"Shay, call Kuya Chael. We will be late!" Kuya Erice said and I nodded. Kuya told us last night na gisingin siya kasi may lakad siya today.
I walked upstairs, to his room and knocked.
"Kuya Mich, are you awake already? We're about to eat breakfast." Sabi ko at nilapit ang tenga ko sa pinto niya.
"Kuya," I continued calling him.
"Mom!"
I heard Kuya Michael shout.
What the fuck is happening?
"Kuya Michael! Are you all right? "I continued pounding on his door." I even tried to open the door, but it was shut.
"What is happening, Shay?" Jeoff appeared beside me.
"Kuya Michael, he is not answering but he shouted Mom's name."
"He's probably having nightmares again," he whispered. "Michael, is everything okay?" He asked him and knocked consecutively.
"Michael, answer or else, I'll break your door!" He shouted. Napalingon ako sa kanya at pinalo siya sa braso.
"What? No! Stop!" I stopped him. Nilayo ko siya sa pinto at kumatok ulit.
I was about to call Kuya Michael again when the door opened.
"Hey," he called out. I looked at him, and he appeared to be crying.
"You yelled Mom's name. What happened? " I asked. He gave me a stare for a while.
He gave me a little smile. "I'm fine. I simply had a nightmare," assuring me that everything was fine. When I looked at Jeoff, he appeared hesitant, but he also gestured that everything was alright.
"Are you sure?" Kuya Michael gave a nod. "Okay. If you've already groomed yourself, go downstairs." He nodded again and shut the door. I stood there staring at his door for a bit.
"You heard him, your Kuya's fine," Jeoff reassured me by tapping my shoulder.
We ate breakfast and we were about to leave when I saw Kuya Michael.
He waved at us and smiled.
"I'm okay." He mouthed. I nod at him and got into the car.
Hindi pa rin maalis sa isip ko ang nangyari kay Kuya Michael. Same thing also happened to Kuya Alez. Wala naman silang sinabi sa akin tungkol sa nightmares nila.
"Shay! " Hana greeted me as I entered the room. I gave her a quick smile.
"Hey," umupo ako sa katabing upuan at nilabas yung notebook ko.
"What are you doing?" She asked me while scrolling through her feed.
"Uh, we have an exam." Binaba niya agad yung phone niya at dali-daling kumuha ng ballpen at notebook.
"Oh my gosh, I forgot about it!" I laughed at what she did.
We were studying when our adviser came.
"Class, attention." We faced her and waited on what she had to say. "I was told you guys will be having a new classmate."
I heard Hana saying "sana gwapo" while her fingers are crossed. Natawa ako.
"Mr. Madrigal, please come in."
A familiar guy came in.
"Uh, hi. I'm Nikko Madrigal." Nahihiyang sabi niya. He was the guy I bumped into. The paper guy!
"Oh, siya yung nasa hallway diba? Yung nabangga mo?" Hana said. I glanced at her and nod.
"I hope you all will be nice to Nikko." She said to us. "Nikko, you may sit at one of those free seats."
