She looked at herself in the mirror. She was dressed a beautiful full skirted white gown, lace bodice and sleeves. Her lashes were coated in a thick layer of mascara and her lips were painted in a deep red, the color of the roses in her bouquet. She had been left alone for the last few minutes before he walk down the aisle, time to collect herself and reflect on how different her life will be within the hour. She and Liam had met long ago, fallen in love, the whole bit. Marriage was the only thing left for them.
Winter had long been her favorite season, well the idea of it as they didn't get much of the season in california. She always thought the snow was so beautiful and when she had first brought up the idea of a winter wedding to Liam he jumped at it, until he realized she meant somewhere that actually got snow. While he was less thrilled about the weather he would do anything to make Y/N happy.
Colorado was snowy this time of year but only just. She wanted an outdoor wedding, a short ceremony in the snow before going inside to keep warm with friends and loved ones and enough alcohol to get even a werewolf tipsy.
She stood in the mirror of her hotel room a long time, so long and so far out of mind that she was only pulled back by Lydia draping a heavy white faux fur cloak over her shoulders and putting the hood up before leading her out of the room and toward the yard of the hotel.
She waited patiently to walk down the aisle, not daring to look up at Liam for fear that she would run to him instead of her slow paced walk she had been practicing for weeks. When she was finally to walk down the aisle she kept her head down, the hood of her cloak blocking her face from view. The seconds ticked away like hours as she walked down the short stretch of snow covered yard, willing herself not to look at Liam seemed to make time pass slower; but finally she was at the alter. With her hand in Liam's grasp she finally looked up. Everything after that felt like a blur, a mess of memories all trying to play at once, vows and rings exchanged and kisses given and before she can bat an eyelash she is walking back toward the hotel with her new husband.
It was a beautiful ceremony, that's what all their guest say. She looks breathtaking and they wish they had seen her face walking down the aisle but she wanted Liam to be the first to see her in full view, in the atmosphere of their ceremony. It was silly but that's what she had wanted. She had wanted many things for this wedding and everything felt as if it had fallen into place. She was pleased with everything from the flowers to her dress to the way each light in the ballroom was lowered and raised to set the mood. But she hadn't seen Liam much since their photos and spoken to him even less. She had been scurried around from one table to another, greeting guests and dancing with this person or that. All she wanted was to see her Liam, to have a moment for the two of them where she could breathe in his scent and have him hold her close.
She had been deep in conversation with her cousins when she was called to the dance floor. Waiting in the middle of the floor was her Liam, his suit jacket discarded long ago and it looked as if his tie had been redone for this dance. She was an arms length away when he wrapped his left arm tightly around her body, pulling her close to him and taking her left hand in his. She wrapped her own arm around his waist and laid her head against his chest as their song began.
It was slow and steady and soft. He swayed her back and forth, kissed her head, held her so tightly in his arms he was afraid he might be hurting her. But he didn't care. He felt as if they had spent their whole wedding apart and he never wanted to let her go and as their song ended he didn't. He continued to hold her, swaying with her to song after song. They hardly spoke, all they wanted was to be in each other's arms and as long as they were on the dance floor together that couldn't be taken away from them.
