Like many kids, Liam moved away from his hometown after graduation for college. The first semester he was home as often as he could be but, in the second semester he got a girlfriend and a job and the course work became more demanding and he wasn't able to go home often. Even in the summer he stayed in the area to keep his job only coming home twice that entire summer. When school started up again it was the same, he had very little time to go home and it was rough. The time devoted to school work, actual work, and his girlfriend left less and less time for visits and skype calls, even phone calls were being cut shorter and shorter as the year went on and with the holidays approaching Liam was really missing home and Y/N could tell. They had spent Thanksgiving with Y/N's family and they had planned to stay with them for the winter break as Liam had only rented the apartment out for the summer but seeing Liam miss his family gave Y/N an idea. As they paced around her dorm room packing for their break she decided to surprise him.
"So Li, how far is Beacon Hills again?"
"A few hours." He replied
"And do you know how to get there from here?"
"Well, obviously."
"Do you think you could tell me how to get there?"
"Yeah, why?" He now questioned her.
"Because, I'm taking you home for Christmas."
Liam's eyes went wide. "What? But, we were supposed to spend Christmas together this year. It's our first Christmas."
Y/N smiled sweetly. "I didn't say we weren't spending Christmas together. I just said you're going to be home for it. I've always wanted to see Beacon Hills."
"Always?"
"Well, since we started seriously dating."
"Do my parents know?"
"No. Well vaguely kind of. I didn't want them to be anywhere else on Christmas so I asked Mason to tell them that you have a surprise for them. So they might suspect but they don't know."
"How long have you been planning this?"
"A few weeks. You just seem to miss your family so much I could stand seeing you like that. Now come on let's get going; you know I don't like driving after dark."
"I love you."
"I love you too but seriously grab the bags wolfie and let's head out."

When their car finally pulled up the house Liam was ecstatic and practically jumping out of the car before it was stopped, racing up to the door, not even knocking, waltzing right in the front door unannounced before Y/N could even unbuckle. She quietly made her way to the door, noticing it had been left open by her boyfriend in his rush. She poked her head in, not wanting to enter the home without permission, and saw Liam and his parents wrapped together in a tight embrace in the front hall of their home. She smiled at the sweet moment, breaking it up a bit to joke with her boyfriend.
"Nice of you to wait for me Li."
"Oh god, I'm sorry I was so excited I almost forgot. Mom, Dad, this is my girlfriend Y/N. It was here idea for us to come."
"I hope you don't mind I kind of invited myself. Liam and I had plans to be together on our first Christmas, the way he spoke about you two I was hoping you wouldn't mind my joining him."
"Not at all. The more the merrier," Liam's mom came over, wrapping an arm around Y/N's shoulder. "Now come inside and we'll get you all settled. Now Liam talks all about you, I feel like I already know you. I can't wait to show you pictures of him as a baby, he had such a cute little butt."
Y/N giggled, looking toward her boyfriend. "He still has a cute little butt."
Liam rolled his eyes. "Can you two please not talk about my butt?"
"No." The two woman said in unison causing them to laugh.
"I think I made a mistake." Liam whispered to his step-father.
"You've fallen in love with your mother." He whispered back.
"I think so."
