"Peace and silence has never felt so sweet," Mickey sighed to herself in pure harmony as she shut the door to her room inside the Berlin compound. It'd been a whirlwind day to say the least, she had spent the majority of the night on a flight back to Europe and barely managed to sleep considering Peter had sat in the seats ahead of her and kept looking out the windows. His relentless questions over every battle with the Avengers had also prevented her sleep but she wasn't as mad at that.
Mickey had come to discover that not only was Peter Parker too innocent for the role of superhero but he was also far too naive. The glint in his eyes as she'd talked over the battles in Sokovia and New York had kept her from pointing out the numerous deaths in each battle. Instead of bringing up the dark she'd kept the mood light and brought up her own roles in the action, even bringing up Captain when Tony had fallen asleep. Peter seemed entertained and she would never admit but secretly she enjoyed talking about it because Peter was one of the few that looked at her as if she was a hero and not some kid.
In that time she'd even managed to ask a few questions, particularly the sensation in being Spider-Man. Peter was humble when he spoke over it all and explained repeatedly that he did it all for the safety of his city and to honor his Uncle Ben as well as his parents which Mickey found herself relating too.
"Who do you do it for?" Peter had questioned after a pause.
Mickey's face suddenly broke into a smile, and although her smile was breathtaking to him the glassy look in her eyes concerned him. She let out a slow breath, the tips of her fingers tracing the cup of her hot chocolate as she adjusted her body in her seat. These were touchy subjects to her, she avoided them at all costs but it only felt right to give out a piece of her to him, after all, he had revealed something deep as well.
Mickey blinked, holding back the tears and spoke with pride, "my mom, she died when I was really young and left me to my dad. I never really found out how but I just know that she didn't deserve it so I first began to do it all for vengeance against what had been done to her. I did a lot of bad things, and so did my dad but we both learned it wasn't right. He learned faster then I did and only after he almost died did I realize that I wasn't meant to be a bad guy. I wanted to be better for my mom and dad, I wanted to be a person they could be proud of and ever since then I've been trying my best."
Peter nodded his head as if he understood and the teenager's just looked at one another, silence filling the small jet afterwards.
Mickey blinked a few times as her cheeks got warm and she looked around the small room as if someone would have caught her. She rolled her eyes at the stupid move and decided that some sleep was probably for the best. All the ideas had been weighing heavy on her mind lately and she just wanted some sleep. Peter was likely with Stark exploring the place or even his new room and wouldn't bother her for hours which made it the perfect time for rest.
The small bed they'd given her was less then adequate but she didn't care at the moment, the ground would have sufficed. With a tired huff she managed to change into loose fitting clothes and trudge her way straight into the bed. After tucking the disposable phone into her pillow she tapped it twice to assure herself it was there and then grew comfortable against the top of it, and where she passed out.
