The next few weeks go by pretty fast. The grief of Blaine's death starts lifting off of my shoulders and I open myself up more, to talk about him and to like and want to date people again. I become good friends with Nick an find out he dates guys too! He has realised it in 7th grade when he realised he watched guys in the hall ways when other guys watched girls. About a month later, I realised something too. I had feelings for Nick Sinclair. I also found out my parents were going to start a foster home , basically open our home to foster kids. At first I was surprised at both the realisation and the news.
I walk out of school after detention with Nick at my side about a month and a half after I met him. He suddenly stops me and pulls me into the hidden corner of the large school building. Nick looks pale and nervous. He asks "Nate, I...have had feelings for you for a long time. I haven't realised this until recently. I understand if you don't feel the same way about me-" I don't let him finish, I grab his black uniform shirt and pull him into a kiss. He looks shocked at first but kisses back. When I finally have to pull away, I look up at him and raise my eyebrows. "I feel the same way. Let that be your proof." Then I start down the road to my home. He watches me go, a bunch of emotions crossing his face; surprise, relief, happiness. The next day I see him walking up the sidewalk. He smiles when he sees me and I catch up with him. When we get to school, Cooper looks at us strangely. "What? You have been looking at us weird all morning?" She smirks "You know there are cameras on school grounds right?" Nick's dark blue eyes grow wide and I feel my face flush. Cooper laughs. "Don't worry, I was the only one in the control room. You got lucky this time you know." I look at Nick and try to suppress a smile, failing. "Are you two going to make it official anytime soon?" My smile falters. "I don't know yet." Cooper sees her mistake and tries to correct it "Do you guys want to come to my house later? I am having a few others over." I reply smirking "By a few others you mean your boyfriend." Nick smiles and Cooper laughs. She holds her hands up in mock surrender "Fine, I just know u enjoy making my new boyfriends uncomfortable at first to test their love strength." I laugh "Put it however you want, I just love scaring the hell out of them! They're always shy and uncomfortable." We all laugh again. Most of Cooper's boyfriends are from public schools. This particular one is new to Brooklyn. He goes to the closest school to Brooklyn Academy. He had never met any of us nor seen the school. This should be fun. I say "Yah sure I will come." Nick said "I will come to, I have never done that before. Should be fun." I smile at him. Cooper nods, "He will be waiting outside, we will go straight home after school and Nate you can make him as uncomfortable as you want." I grin and rub my hands together and hunch my shoulders in a mock evil action and say "I shall!" We all laugh again.
