Two Ways of Coping With Hurt

Once Hailey arrived at her parents house, she quickly ran in. Her parents were on the couch watching a tv show. She didn't want to explain to them yet, so she just pointed towards the upstairs.
Hailey went into her old room and logged on her spam account on Instagram. She was ready to lash out on Michael, even though it was pretty petty to do so. She took a picture of her old wall then put a caption to go along with it.
@Hailey.spam- great knowing that I mean nothing to you after these five years we've been together. I can't believe you chose someone that wants us broken up over me who you've "loved" for years. You broke my heart into pieces, and I really don't think I'll be able to fix it. I don't even know if YOU'LL be able to fix it. I'm not naming names, cause you damn well know who you are 😏‼️

Hailey rolled her eyes and didn't answer her friend. She then noticed that she got a DM from Devin, which she found a bit strange.
         Devin- I saw your post on your spam so I decided to DM you, it's about Michael huh?
Hailey- yeah it is....
Devin- I'm here if you need to talk, okay?
Hailey- I really need to talk Devin
Devin- okay then I'm all ears... well eyes since I'm reading😂
Hailey- okay well we're done basically... he chose Jay over me and I'm over here crying my eyes out while he's perfectly fine with walking away from me... like did I actually mean NOTING to him?!! He straight up told me that he doesn't love me anymore, could that be serious???
Devin- well that's defiantly an asshole move if I do say so myself. But he's proably having too big of an ego to actually say he still loves you. You can't date someone for five years, almost marry them and then you don't love them anymore
Hailey- that's exactly what I'm saying....
Devin- if you need a place to stay, come over okay? You know my LA address
Hailey- thanks Devin, I'll be over soon if you don't mind?
Devin- I'm totally free! ☺️
Hailey walked downstairs and told her parents that she would be at Devin's house. She walked out to her car in a hoodie and sweatpants. She didn't mind how laid back she looked with Devin.
Hailey arrived at Devin's house about thirty minutes after she texted him. Hailey got out of her car and knocked on the door.
Devin opened the door and engulfed her into a hug. Hailey sighed and hugged him back, closer than she's ever hugged someone. They stayed in this position for a few minutes, until Hailey broke away from the hug.
"Come on, let's go cuddle. I'm going to make you hot chocolate and treat you like a princess" Devin said, as he placed a kiss onto Hailey's forehead.
"Thanks Dev" Hailey said and followed him towards the kitchen.
"No no, go lay in my bed I'll meet you there" Devin said softly, and Hailey nodded. She walked upstairs and walked into the boys room. She looked around and laid down in his bed.
Time pasted, and Hailey couldn't help but get comfortable. Her eyes started to flutter shut, but they opened once Devin entered the room.
"Oh, I'm sorry... you can go back to sleep" Devin said softly, placing the hot chocolate on the bedside table.
"No it's okay" Hailey said, with a sleepy smile. Devin nodded and laid down next to her. Hailey smiled softly, and nuzzled into his chest.
"You're okay with this?" Devin asked, but it was too late for Hailey to answer. She was already sleeping, and Devin wrapped his arms around her.
Meanwhile, Michael and Jay were laughing playing video games.
"Just like old times bro!" Jay said as the two played 2K.
        "I know it's great! It's just like when we used to always hangout in the hotel room's during Boy Band!" Michael exclaimed as he looked from Jay to the tv screen.
       "Seems like you don't miss Hailey one bit" Jay said with a chuckle. Michael laughed along with Jay.
        "Nah I really don't. It's great to have guy time and not have to be with her 24/7" Michael said, and Jay giggled at him.
        "Wow, now you're referring to Hailey as "her", damn Michael" Jay said with a shrug. Michael rolled his eyes and ignored Jay and continued playing the video game.
       Later that night Michael and Jay were scrolling through their Instagram feeds. Jay bursted out laughing once he went through his feed.
       "HAILEY IS SO PETTY MICHAEL!!!" Jay yelled, showing him her spam accounts post.
        Michael read over the caption and his heart broke as he read it. He couldn't believe he had that much of an impact on her.
        He shook of the hurt feeling, and played it cool. He rolled his eyes up at Jay and shook his head.
        "She is acting so childish just like Bailey told her. She needs to grow up..." Michael said softly and almost confidently. Jay smirked, shocked by Michael's sudden change on his feelings towards Hailey.
"So you're over her?" Jay asked, and has been waiting for this answer for awhile.
"Yup, I am" Michael said, and Jay smirked. He wasn't finished with his whole sentence.
"But are you completely over her?" Jay asked as he started another game. Michael looked at Jay, and was prepared to answer him.
"I..." Michael started and was not sure how to answer that question.
