The next morning Hailey woke up to arms wrapped around her. Her head was hurting, but not as bad as the thought it would. She looked over, and saw a sleeping Michael laying next to her.
She smiled softly, and nuzzled her head into the crook of his neck. Michael mumbled something is his sleep, before fluttering his eyes opened.
"Good morning babe" Michael said, his voice raspy. Hailey smiled and hugged him close to her.
"Good morning" Hailey said softly, and kissed his head.
"I can't believe you did that last night..." Michael trailed off, and Hailey sighed.
"I know I was drunk and wasn't thinking Michael. I only want your lips on mine... I just wanted to-" Hailey was then interrupted.
"Make me jealous yeah I know you told me last night" Michael said sitting up in bed, making Hailey move off of him.
"Well at least I'm an honest drunk..." Hailey giggled, making Michael tense up.
"W-well... yeah..." Michael said softly, and got out of bed. Hailey took his hand, only for him to pull his hand away.
"Babe...?" Hailey asked softly, and Michael ignored her and kept walking. He picked up his phone and called someone. He knew his decision and he was going to make it today.
"Hey Jay, are you still in town?" Michael asked into the phone. He received his answer and smiled. "Great meet me at the café, got some news!" Michael said and hung up the phone.
Hailey got out of the room, and walked up to Michael. She went to wrap her arms around his waist, when he walked right by her.
"Conor!!!!" Hailey yelled, starting to get aggravated now. He came out of their room with a black shirt, with a red flannel over it and ripped jeans.
"I made my decision" Michael said as he tied his sneakers. "I'll see you later" he said as he walked towards the front door. Hailey ran after him, and grabbed his arm.
"M-Michael... wait... I-I want a kiss" Hailey said softly, her body starting to shake. Michael sighed and placed a kiss on her head.
"Bye Hailey" Michael said as he opened the door and walked out.
"I love you..." Hailey said softly, but it was too late for Michael to hear her. Hailey sighed, walked back upstairs and walked into the living room.
She looked to the side, and noticed there was a hole in the wall. Not just one, but two. Hailey walked closer to it, and stared more in depth with the holes. She then noticed it was a hole someone had to punch.
Hailey gasped and teared up. She figured it was her fault that happened, and that Michael got mad and punched the wall. Not only once, but twice.
Michael drove to the café and saw his best friend sitting at a table. He smiled softly, and walked into the café.
"Hey Michael, my guy!" Jay said happily, standing up at the table. Michael chuckled, and the two shared a bro hug.
"Hi Jay, missed you bro" Michael said as the two sat down.
"So, what's the news you got for me?" Jay asked, scanning the menu to figure out what he wanted to eat.
"W-well I had to decide on something... a-and it was a BIG decision okay" Michael admitted and Jay rose his eyebrows intrigued.
"Okay, what was it? Let me guess... to continue rapping on songs, or just straight up sing?" Jay asked with a chuckle and Michael shook his head.
"I wish i-it was as simple as that..." Michael started, and Jay looked up at the blue eyed boy. "It was decision to choose you or Hailey..." Michael said, making Jay's eyes widen.
"And let me guess you chose Hailey? She loves you, you love her. So why am I here? I should go. This is pointless... obviously our friendship is over so I-" Jay was about to leave, but Michael cut in.
"I chose you Jay, that's why I'm here!" Michael said, making Jay gasp.
"YOU CHOSE ME OVER YOUR FIANCÉE!? WOW THIS IS SO AMAZING!!" Jay yelled happily, and Michael chuckled.
"Well, you're my best friend ya know? I've known you longer than her" Michael said with a shrug. "Besides, I can always find someone else" Michael concluded, but just as those words left his mouth he felt as if he got stabbed in the gut.
"Damn Michael, if you really are over... take that ring off" Jay said pointing to his hand. Michael looked down at his hand and stared at the ring.
"O-okay..." Michael stuttered out and took it off then placed it into his jean pocket. Jay smirked, impressed by this.
"That's impressive Michael, I must admit" Jay said and the two ordered their breakfast.
Later that day, Hailey was washing the dishes when Michael came home. Hailey looked at the front door, and smiled. She dried her hands and ran down and leaned in. But to her surprise, Michael pushed her off him making Hailey tear up.
"W-what?! Why can't I k-kiss you?!" Hailey stuttered out, searching his eyes for an answer. Michael sighed and walked up the stairs ignoring her.
"CONOR MICHAEL SMITH WILL YOU FRICKEN TALK TO ME?!?! I GET IT! I SCREWED UP AND MADE YOU JELAOUS! BUT YOU WON'T KISS ME! YOU DIDN'T SAY I LOVE Y-" Hailey was interrupted but Michael speaking.
"We're over" Michael said softly, making Hailey's heart break.
"W-wait... wh-what?!" Hailey asked, hoping she heard the wrong thing. Michael sighed and turned to face her.
"WE'RE OVER HAILEY! I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE! I CHOSE JAY OVER YOU! I CAN FIND SOMEONE THAT WANTS TO HAVE ME AND MY BEST FRIEND IN OUR RELATIONSHIP! CLARELY YOU CAN'T, SO WE'RE DONE!" Michael yelled at the girl, making Hailey stumble back.
She looked down at the ground and started to cry. What did she do wrong? She knew she screwed up last night, but she didn't think it'd go this far.
"A-AFTER FIVE Y-Y-YEARS... YOU HAVE THE N-NERVE TO SAY YOU DON'T L-L-LOVE ME?!?" Hailey yelled, her body shaking as she held onto the railing of the staircase.
"YEAH ARE YOU STUIPD?!? I DON'T LOVE YOU! I'M KEEPING JAY IN MY LIFE, AND YOU'RE LEAVING IT!" Michael yelled and Hailey clasped onto the floor crying.
Hailey cried hard into her hands as Michael walked into their room as if Hailey was perfectly fine. She shook her head and through her eyes that were full of tears, she looked at the ring.
She sniffled, and took off the ring. Her hands were shaking more than she's ever seen them. She took the ring in her hand, and threw it down the stairs.
She stood up with her legs shaking. She then opened the front door, and walked out to her car. She started sobbing, which she found it a bit ironic that it starting pouring outside.
She unlocked her car and sat in her car crying along with the rain falling from the sky. She turned on her car, and got ready to drive towards her parents house.
She turned on the radio, and of course it was like salt to a wound. "Eyes Closed" by In Real Life was playing through her speakers. She shook her head as she shakily changed the station.
She put the car in reverse, and drove off to her parents house. She assumed that's where she'll be living for a while.
