Hailey woke up in Devin's arms, with a smile on her face. She looked over and noticed he was looking at her.
"Good morning" Devin said softly, and Hailey sighed.
"Good morning... uh, how long have you been staring at me?" Hailey asked, and Devin chuckled softly.
"Only a few minutes, not a creepy long time though" Devin said and Hailey nodded.
She'd admit she missed waking up to Michael in the morning. Devin smiled and rubbed her back soothingly.
"I can tell you're feeling a bit upset... you're not good at hiding emotions" Devin said with a chuckle. Hailey looked up and shook her head.
"I-I'm not... you're right..." Hailey said softly and sniffled. Devin pulled her into him and kissed her head.
"I'm gonna help heal you, okay? I'll keep you safe and make sure nothing or anyone else can hurt you" Devin said, and Hailey nodded. She did feel protected, but not as protected as she felt with Michael.
"Thank you Dev, it means a lot to me" Hailey said as looked into his eyes. The two got lost in each other's eyes, and Devin smiled at her.
"You're so pretty Hailey... inside and out..." Devin said gently, as he moved a stray hair behind her ear. Hailey blushed by this little action.
"Thanks Devin" Hailey said softly, still looking into his eyes. Devin smiled and leaned in, and Hailey leaned in as well.
The twos lips met, and they shared a sweet kiss. Devin smiled in the kiss, but Hailey didn't. She was too broken to smile in this moment. Devin pulled away, and cupped her cheek.
"How could someone do that to you? You're amazing" Devin said, scanning Hailey's eyes for any sign of emotion.
"I-I don't know..." Hailey said softly, leaning her head onto his chest. She couldn't wrap her head around the thought of why Michael did that either.
"But yeah know, I'm always here for you. And I sincerely apologize for being a flirt with you the first time we've met... I shouldn't hav-" Hailey placed her finger over Devin's lips to shush him.
"It's okay Devin... just drop it... it was five years ago. The day came and went it's all good" Hailey said with a shy smile. Devin nodded and placed another kiss on her head. Hailey smiled at the gesture, and looked over at her phone.
She was hoping to see Michael's name on her lock screen for a notification, but she got nothing. She teared up, and figured maybe Michael doesn't even love her anymore.
"Hey..." Devin said softly as he rubbed her back. "How about you and I go out to breakfast?! Get your mind off of him for a bit, yeah? And I'd change that lock screen while you're at it" Devin said softly, and Hailey nodded.
"B-b-but I really love this picture of us..." Hailey said trailing off. It was a cute moment the two shared together. "I-it was a perfect moment for us, a-and I-" Hailey teared up, and the memories flew back into her mind.

"Come on babe let me take a picture of you!" Hailey said with a smile. Michael groaned while sat down and got ready for a picture.
"Okay I'm ready babe" Michael said and Hailey whined.
"Smile doofus!!!" Hailey said and Michael smiled for the girl. Hailey smiled as she took the picture quickly before Michael stopped smiling.
Hailey looked at the photo and groaned.
"Realllyyyyy?!?" Hailey whined and Michael giggled. Hailey showed him the picture and he kissed her head.

"I still look good even though I'm not smiling" Michael said, and Hailey looked up at him

"I still look good even though I'm not smiling" Michael said, and Hailey looked up at him.
"Yeah but your smile is beautiful" Hailey said and Michael smiled and sat back down.
"Come here babe" Michael gestured towards her. He already had a plan for a cute moment for them.
"Uh okay?" Hailey said, confused as to what the boy wanted her to do. He was seated back into that position, and moved his legs a bit further apart.
"Sit" Michael said and Hailey sat in between his legs. She leaned back and Michael wrapped his arms around her waist. "Get your phone" Michael said into her ear.
Hailey nodded and took out her phone and Michael took it from her. He clicked on the camera app, and Hailey was a bit confused as to what he was gonna do.
"Are we gonna pose?" Hailey asked, but Michael left her in suspense. He wrapped his right arm around her waist as he had the phone in his left hand.
He pressed a kiss to her lips and took the picture as Hailey was shocked at the action.
Michael pulled away and looked at the photo. Hailey smiled and looked at it along with him.
"We're goals babe" Michael said nudging Hailey. Hailey blushed as she kissed his cheek and nodded.
"New lock screen for sure" Hailey said and set it as hers. Michael giggled and leaned his head onto hers.
~End of Flashback~
"Hailey... uh... Hailey?" Devin asked, waving his hand in front of her face to get her attention.
"Yeah? Sorry uh, let's go to breakfast" Hailey said and the two changed and walked to the café down the street.
The two walked in and Hailey stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the black haired boy she loved.
"What's wro- oh..." Devin said trailing off once he realized what she saw. Hailey walked in confidently and Devin widened his eyes by her determination.
"What?! I'm not letting an idiot ruin my breakfast" Hailey said and the host walked up and showed the two their table.
Hailey groaned once she got seated down across from Michael. She was shocked he was alone and not with Jay.
Hailey looked up, and saw the younger boy walk through the doors. The two made eye contact, and he winked at the girl. Hailey looked down quickly and picked up her menu.
"HI HAILEY!" Jay yelled making everyone turn their heads towards the girl.
Hailey looked up and shook her head at the boy. Jay smirked and Michael looked from the boy to the girl.
"Look whose here with me, Michael! Don't you miss him or are you too into Devin to care?!" Jay picked on the girl. Hailey teared up and shook her head at the younger boy.
"S-stop Jay... I-I just want to enjoy my breakfast" Hailey said and she was shocked to hear Michael comment.
"You moved on quickly didn't ya babe? Or should I say, baby girl?" Michael asked with a smirk playing on his lips. Hailey stood up and ran out of the restaurant. Everyone was either looking at the two boys, or were whispering rude things about them.
Devin stood up and walked up to the two boys. He was taller than the two of them, so they felt a bit intimidated.
"You two are acting so immature right now! All Hailey wanted was to get some coffee and eggs, and this is how you treat her?!? She didn't even say a word to EITHER of you guys!!! You know how much STRENGTH that took for her to walk into these doors KNOWING you were in here Michael?!? And what the hell was that?!? Calling her babe and baby girl, for what?! To make her feel bad that your not hers anymore??? You're an asshole Conor, and so are you Jay..." Devin said disappointed in the boys and walked out of the café.
Jay and Michael looked at each other, but didn't say anything else. Everyone in the restaurant was shaking their heads at them and saying they were rude.
"I'm so sorry Hailey... I don-" Hailey turned and faced the taller boy and then hugged him tightly. Hailey just sobbed into his shirt, not wanting to talk anymore.
Devin wrapped his arms around her as she just sobbed. He whispered sweet nothings into her ear, hoping that would help. But nothing did, she only sobbed more as time went on.
Little did Hailey know, Michael was looking out the window of the café to see the two hugging. The fact that Michael knew he made her cry and made her that fragile, broke him inside. Was he going to do anything about it? Probably not...
