Jacs pov
As I cringed he threw another syringe at me, this time hitting my arm. "Ohhh god." I said as my vision blurred and I became nauseous. I quickly ran down the stairs and out the door, needle ripping a large cut into my right arm. I then fell down of the edge of the cliff almost killing myself. As my head throbbed I ran as fast I could to the forest to lose Duncan. He was an angry drunk, not trustable with a threat and lots of sharp things in a laboratory. I slowly halted myself and threw up on the grass making sure none got on me. "Oh lab rat, where are you!" Duncan called in his drunken stupor. I started running faster as my vision blurred more. I looked around for some sort of weapon to defend myself with. The best I could find was a large stick and as I held it up Duncan came into view. As I ran I could almost hear the creeper like hissing of the mad scientist, and as I backed up against a tree I could see flecks of blood red in his eyes. I dropped the stick and ran for a pond I saw earlier. Then I saw a castle that looked as though it was burning, I was losing more and more vision and then something hard appeared behind me, and Duncan aimed to strike.
Ridgedogs pov
As Kaz stared out the window she noticed something. "Hey Ridge, I think you need to see this!" She yelled as I curled my hair. "What is it?" I said as I pulled on my coat. "LOOK!" Kaz yelled pointing out the two mortals fighting near the pond. "And?" I said pointing out that I did this all the time. "No look WHO!" She yelled pointing even harder and then I realized. "Isn't that the girl you met on the boat!" She said urging me on. "Oh notch!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs jumping into my boots and getting to the door. I teleported behind her and caught her as she collapsed, leaving Duncan to run away.
