Chapter 5: Almost Time

Chapter 5: Almost Time

{Alex's POV}

I lay in bed at 6:20A.M. I have to be at school today by 7:40.. I think about the dance. It's only a week away. I know know who I should ask. If I even go.. I mean Jake is probably going with his girlfriend, I wish I could be her sometimes. I mean she's super pretty, but she is kind of a slut and I don't want anyone to think of me as a slut. But she's a cheerleader and she's dating one of the hottest guys in school, Jake. All I can think about is going to the dance with Jake. I picture is together. Dancing.

Wait. I'm trying to picture me and Jake. But my mind keeps showing me a picture of me and Logan. Ugh! I do like Logan. A lot! But I think I like Jake more. I get out of bed because I'm so tired of thinking of all of this crap. I run to straighten my hair since I showered last night. Then I run to my closet, grab some cute Hollister shorts, an American Eagle white tank top, and a cute top from Forever 21. Everyone thinks I'm country, which I am, but I'm also pretty fashionable, if I do say so myself.

I get dressed quickly and realize that I only have 15 minutes to get to school. I run downstairs, grab lunch money, grab a protein bar, and my backpack then am out the door. I get in my truck and drive to school. I run down the parking lot and accidentally bump into Logan.

Not realizing who I bumped into, I turn to look at him and say out of breath from running, "I'm so sorry!"

"Oh hey Alex's! It's fine, want to walk to class together?" says Logan. He looks into my eyes and I can't help but to stand there. His eyes are a beautiful blue. Then when I realize I haven't been talking I realize I should reply.

"Sure!" I say quickly, looking away. I walk to the front door of the school.

"Wait let me get that," Logan says, running to the door and opens it. I can't help but blush a little.

"Oh what a gentleman," we both chuckle a little bit. "So did you get asked to go to the Satie Hawkins dance?"

"Nah, what girl would want to go with me?"

"Me.." I whisper really quietly.

"What did you say?" Says Logan. "I couldn't hear you over the noises of everyone else. Sorry"

"Oh, nothing,"

"C'mon, you can tell me."

"No it's not like that, it's just I have to get to chemistry on time, I don't want to be late," I lie quickly.

"Umm..you me and Jake all have English first period."

"Oh yeah, that's what I meant"

"Right," Logan says sarcastically.

"Shut up! I have chemistry second."

"Whatever you say, sweetie,"

"Don't call me sweetie"

"Okay, sweetie"

I can't help but to blush. "Ugh, just shut up for once"

"Rude much?"

"Annoying much?"

Logan and I have been friends forever and we always fight but it's not like really fighting, it's just play.

I walk into class and sit with Logan and Jake as usual.

**TIME SKIP TO LUNCH**

I sit at lunch with all my friends.

"So, are you going to the winter formal this year?" Maria asked Jake and Logan.

"Nope" they both say.

"Why not? No girls like you? I mean sorry but why would they?" Jamie says sarcastically.

"Very funny..but no." Jake says.

I just sit there. I don't know what to say.

"I'm going with Andy,' Maria says.

"I'm going with James," Jamie says.

Everyone looks at me, thinking I'm going to say who I'm going with.

"I'm not going," I say.

"Why not?" Jake asks.

"I don't know who to ask," I say.

"I do," Jamie says.

"No you don't," I say, clenching my teeth together.

"Want me to say?" Jamie asks.

"Only if you want me to kill you,"

"Yeah I think I'll shut up."

"Good idea" I say and we all laugh.

"No but really you should ask someone," Maria says.

"Yeah yeah I know I think I might ask someone. I'll talk to you about it after school." I say.

"Why not now?" Logan asks.

"Because I don't need you and Jake knowing so that you can tell everyone in this school," I say.

"We won't tell,"

"Yeah right."

"I promise."

"Don't believe you. Sorry!"

"Whatever."

The bell rings and we go to class. We finish our day and then Maria and Jamie come to my house. We do homework and then talk like we always do.

"So, who are you thinking about asking?" Maria asks.
