Lance POV:
We returned to the apartment without saying a word. I was embarrassed and a little heartbroken by what Keith said.
I opened the door to see my living room trashed.
"Shit!"
I said as ran in to check the other rooms. I ran into my bedroom and saw it was just as trashed. I quickly checked to see if the book was still in my dresser. It wasn't.
My heart sank as I starred at the empty space it should have been.
"K-Keith we have have a problem!"
I yelled to him.
He quickly came into my room and noticed what I was talking about.
"Oh no."
He said as his eyes went wide. I watched him take a deep breath and run his fingers through his hair.
"We have to get the book back. If it gets into the wrong hands we're doomed to repeat this towns history."
"W-what do you mean?"
I asked as panic set in.
"If the new owner of the books gets adventurous with it, they could unleash all the monsters within it. Letting them lose onto the world."
Keith looked me dead in the eyes as he spoke those haunting words.
I felt my stomach form knots.
"We can't let that happen! What do we do?"
I asked trying my best to sound like I wasn't mentally dying.
"We need to hunt down the book and and take it back."
Keith paused for a moment then continued,
"I don't think we'll be able to do this alone. We'll need more then two people to hunt this thief down. Do you know of anyone who can help?"
I scanned my brain for people who could help us, a light bulb went off in my head. I looked up to meet Keith's eye and said,
"I know just the people!"
