Hunk's POV:
I shot up from my sleep only to hit my head on the car seat in front of me.
"Ow!"
I said rubbing my nose.

"You okay big guy?"
Keith asked from the seat in front of me. Yesterday I was scared he was going to go all horror novel on us and kill everyone, but Lance kept assuring me he wasn't like that.

"Yeah."
I said.
"Hey how come the vampire gets to sit in the passenger seat?"
I whispered to Lance.

"Don't call him a vampire like it's a bad thing. That's rude!"
Lance whispered not so quietly in my ear.

"I can hear you two."
Keith said knitting his eyebrows together as he looked at both of us in the rearview mirror.

"Haha, sorry!"
I said scratching my head.

"So do we have a plan yet?"
I asked everyone. We here all squished into Coran's van. Coran drove while Keith sat in the passenger seat. Lance and I sat in the two seats behind the diver and passenger while Shiro and Pidge took the backseats.

"Not yet. None of us could think with your constant snoring."
Pidge said typing away on her laptop.
I felt my cheeks go red from embarrassment. Everyone found humor in her comment so I laughed it off.

---
Keith's POV:
It had been hours. We drove and drove, but no luck on finding the book. Everyone looked miserable as Coran refused to stop till we reached the hotel we all would be staying at.
We finally made it there and everyone, but me and Shiro, ran to the bathrooms.

I helped him carry everyone's things into our rooms. Once we where done we both took a breather. I decided to walk out onto the balcony. It was around 10pm so it was dark and you could see the moon well.
I watched as group of bats flew around in the sky.

"So you're a real vampire?"
I heard Shiro's voice ask. I looked over my shoulder to see him walking up next to me.

"Yeah."
I said turing my attention back to the night sky.

"Where you always a vampire?"
He said asked innocently.
I felt my mouth go dry.
"No."
I said thinking back to the night I meet Lotor. I guess Shiro figured out it was a sore subject and stopped pressing into it.

"I think I'll go check on Lance now. Please excuse me."
I said tuning to leave the room.
I didn't get far before I felt a firm hand on my shoulder.
"Don't hurt him Keith. He's fragile in more why's then one."
Shiro said sternly.

"I'd never hurt him. Don't worry."
I said reassuring him. The last thing I would want to do is hurt Lance.

"Then don't let me see anymore bite marks on him, or anyone else on this team. Or else."
He voice was colder then the night air.
I moved away from Shiro's grip and walked out of the room without a single word.

---
Keith's POV:
Everyone had to pair up in groups of two to share rooms. Pidge and Hunk formed one group , Shiro and Coran another, leaving me and Lance as a group. Not that I was complaining, everyone else was either scared of me or hated me.

I sat with my legs over the side of my bed as I memorize the carpets design.
Lance was taking a shower so I had the room to myself for now. Shiro's words echoed in my thoughts, or else. What does he mean by that? It's not like I can help the way I am. It's not like I choose this cursed lifestyle!

I took a deep breath and sighed, tying to relax myself. I heard a little click from the bathroom door. I looked up to see Lance wrap up in a hotel towel. I quickly averted my eyes trying to hide my blush. He could have at least gave me a warning before coming out looking like that!

Lance must have noticed me doing this as he let out a soft chuckle.
"You okay there?"
He said as he grabbed some clothes out of his suitcase.

"Ye-yeah!"
I said trying to covering up my voice cracking. I quickly got up and turned to go to the balcony.

"I'll leave so you can change."
I said as I practically sprinted away from him. I closed the curtains so I couldn't see inside the room and finally took a deep breath. Why am I like this?
I said mentally face palming myself.

A few seconds later I saw Lance peak his head out from behind he curtains with a goofy smile plastered on his face.
"What do you want?"
I asked him still not able to make eye contact with him.

"Watcha doing out here vampire boy?"
He said all playfully. This boy is going to be the death of me!

"Um... thinking... about stuff."
I said as he stepped through the curtains fully. He had on his blue slippers and a pair of shorts.
I quickly averted my eyes to the moon and refused myself to look at him while he was shirtless. Lance let out a delicate laugh as he stepped next to me.
"I never took you as the shy type."

"What can I say. I'm full of surprises."
I mumbled back. We stayed quiet for awhile. It wasn't awkward or anything just... quite. It was a peaceful night with a light breeze.

"I have a question if your willing to answer it. It a little personal though."
Lance finally asked breaking the silence.

"Sure. What's your question?"
I said briefly looking him in the eyes before going back to the sky.
"I heard you and Shiro talking."
My mind froze as knots formed in my stomach. Where was this going?
"I understand why you wouldn't want to tell him but... I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about how you... ya know... changed?"

My heart stopped as I looked over at him. The knots in my stomach intensified as I meet his gaze.
"It's fine you don't have to tell me!"
Lance said waving his hands like he could wave the question away.

"N-no its... its fine. I'll tell you."
I said looking down at my hands.
They where shaking, not because it was cold out, because I'd never told anyone this story. Lance noticed and took my hands in his.
"You don't have to if it's to much. I understand that some things are hard to talk about with other people."

"No its fine. I-I want you to know."
I said forcing a smile. We went inside and sat down on one of the beds. I proceeded to tell him about Allura, how we ran for our lives, how I got bit, and the night that followed. Lance listened to every detail and didn't press any question on me. If he saw I was getting emotional about it he would grab my hands and give them a little squeeze to help me stay grounded.

Once I finished it felt like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Lance gave me a soft smile.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that. It must have been hard."
He said still hold my hands.

"At the time it was. I guess I should be thankful though."
I said with a soft smile. Lance tilted his head in confusion.
"Without that bite I would have never met you."
It was cheesy and stupid, but it was true. Lance's cheeks lit up like a Christmas tree. He quickly cover his face with a pillow to hide it. I laughed at him till my stomach hurt.
"Good one."
Was all he could manage to say.
