Just in case anyone didn't see the update for the first chapter, I've completely deleted what was there before and I've replaced it with a chapter that is longer and from a better fic that I have more written for. Sorry for the confusion, but if you're interested you might want to go back and read that one before you read this chapter.

'Hey, sweets.' Zosia is awoken by the soothing voice of her best friend, Dominic. He's sat by her beside as she comes to, resting his chin on his hand, watching her intently, a small grin on his lips. She's glad he's here, as opposed to Ollie who'd make things worse by fretting and worrying about everything.

'Dom?' She whispers, trying to sit up.

'You're okay. You just, ya know, fell down a small flight of stairs. As you do.' He jokes softly, reaching out to take hold of her hand. She can barely feel it- it only registers as a very light pressure due to the heavy pain medication she's on- but it makes her feel safer regardless.

'I didn't!' She exclaims, horrified.

'You did. Luckily, um... Luckily Isaac was there, or who knows what might have happened.' His voice sounds tight and strained now, and she realises what he's thinking. That Isaac, who tried to push him down the stairs once, could have done this to her.

'Yeah... Lucky...' she murmurs.

Dominic leans forward slightly, checking that the curtain is shut, and then asks her straight.

'Did Isaac... Did he push you?'

She's half tempted to lie, and say he did. After all, he definitely deserves it. But her moral side takes over, and she shakes her head, squeezing his hand to reaffirm what she's said.

'No. I mean, we argued, and he spooked me enough to make me run down the stairs. But he didn't push me. As much as I wish he did.'

'What do you mean?' He questions, but he thinks he knows. Subconsciously, he reaches down to hold his side, feeling at the bruises left by Isaac on his ribs.

'I know what he's been doing, Dom. That's the reason I was coming down here. I wanted to talk to you about it.'

'Let's not do this now, Zosh. Can't we just focus on you getting better?' He says, avoiding her gaze. She knows not to push for a proper answer now, and lets it go before it can dissolve into an argument. The last thing she wants is to fall out with Dominic.

'What's actually wrong with me?' Judging by the fact that she's on Keller, only plugged into an IV, she realises it can't be serious.

'A few bruised ribs. Twisted ankle. Fractured collar bone. But fine, apart from all that. Pretty lucky if you ask me.'

'I guess I am.' She agrees, before remembering that there's someone missing at her bedside.

'Dom? Where's Ollie?'

'Mother hen's on his way. Just getting coffee for everyone, I think. And fretting a lot. Mostly about you.'

She nods, and then thinks of something else she needs to ask him.

'Dom, can you check something for me? Before Ollie gets here?'

She explains to him about the baby, about not finding the opportunity to tell Oliver yet. He understands completely, and tells a nurse not to let Ollie visit Zosia until he had completed an ultrasound.
