I was walking down a crowded street in Phoenix, Arizona with my best friend Issac Lahey, when I saw a boy across the street. He had dark brown hair and big blue eyes, he'd be perfect. He looked up at me and I smiled at him, and he smiled back. He walked into an Ice cream parlor, but then I realized he was with a girl. I waited until they came out and when they did they were holding hands.
"He has a Girlfriend." I said to Issac.
"Is that a problem?" He asked.
"No... He'll just have to like me better." I said.
"So he's the final target?"
"Why not? Derek's been up my butt about this New Beta thing for weeks." I said.
"You're sure he's the right one?" Issac asked.
"Awe is my wingman getting jealous?" I asked, Issac rolled his eyes. Out of the blue, the boy walked towards me and the girl went the other way.
"Follow the girl." I whispered.
"I know." Issac said, Going toward her.
I watched the boy come closer and I pretended to be waiting for someone. The boy made it to me and Stood beside me.
"Hello." I said, starting a conversation.
"Hi. What's your name?" He Asked.
"Lani." I said. "What's yours?"
"Noah." He responded.
"Are you waiting for someone too?" I asked.
"Nope. Just enjoying the senery." He said. His eyes turned Brown, like mine, and I could tell the 'Perfume' Cora gave me was working.
"Are you from here?" I asked.
"No, I'm from Sacramento, California." He responded.
"Cool. You know, we should hang out sometime." I said. "Might as well cancel any... dates." I said, running my hand down his arm.
"Yeah... umm... how about Friday? I had a movie planned with my girlfriend, but it can wait." He said.
"Yeah, Friday's good. Wanna meet in the park?" I asked.
"Sure." He said.
"Okay then. it's a date... well... not a date..." I rambled.
"It's fine, I know what you meant." he said. "See ya then." He said, walking away.
"See ya!" I said. "Pfft. Not a date. We'll see about that."
