Chapter 25: Wolfsbane

Lani's pov

After Stiles introduced Lydia to the pack I could sense that something bad was going to happen.

"Does anyone else hear that?" Liam asked. I listened silently and heard a bunch of footsteps.

"I hear people coming. Come on lets start walking again." I said. We turned around and there was a group of hunters. We turned to go the other way and the Alpha pack was there.

"I think... We're screwed." Stiles said.

"Thanks for being optimistic Stiles." I said. All of the sudden Lacy fell on the ground screaming.

"Its working! The stuff the vet gave us is working!" I said.

"What did you do to her?!" A werewolf I knew as Jacob asked.

"It wasn't us. It was the vet. He surrounded our Hideout in mountain ash so the supernatural can't come in or out." I said. "Now all we have to worry about is the werewolf murderers over there."

We all looked back at the Hunters and saw that Allyson Argent's Dad had a gun pointed at us.

"Who should I shoot? I only have one bullet." He thought aloud.

"How about yourself?" Liam spat.

"I guess It'll be you." He said. There was a bang and Liam fell to the ground and blood started leaking from a bullet hole in his shoulder.

"Okay boys, thats enough for now." The hunter said. "Lets let him suffer." We waited until they were completely out of sight then ran over to Liam.

"Liam!?" I yelled, but he didn't seem to hear me. He put his hand over the wound.

"Why... Why isn't it healing?" He asked, blood dripping from his mouth. I took a breath in and a smell almost made me gag.

"The bullet had Wolfsbane in it!" I stated.

"Won't that like... kill him?" Scott asked.

"He's a goner." Stiles said.

"Again with the optimism Stiles." I said. "We have to get him to the vet."

"There's a whole pack of Alphas standing right there staring holes into our heads, I don't think we're getting out of here any time soon." Coraline said.

"We have to do something!" I yelled. "His body can't heal around the bullet, So he wont heal at all, And the vet is the only one that can get a bullet out of someone."

"What do we do?!" Erika asked.

"We take him inside, put a patch on it, and wait until they leave." I said.

"What if they don't?" Stiles asked.

"They have to, or the ash will kill them." I said.

"Okay, well lets get him inside." Scott said.

We took Liam inside and I started cleaning and patching up the wound.

"Cora, see if there's anything we can do in the wolfsbane book." I said. She picked it up and flipped through it.

"It's only a few pages long, like the person writing in it just stopped." She said. "All it says is get him to an expert, which would be the vet, which we cant get to."

"This is hopeless." Stiles said.

"Are you going to be like this all the time?" I asked him, He rolled his eyes. The pack and I went up to the woods and started putting more ash around the hideout.

"What are we going to do about them?" Isaac asked me, gesturing to the Alpha's standing outside of the barrier.

"I don't... wait I have an idea! We'll have to wait until the Alpha's change back so they cant hear us." I said. I went back inside to check on Liam. I got down there and he looked a million times worse. His face was practically white and he was shivering. I went back outside to the pack.

"Guys this is getting too bad, if we don't get him somewhere he'll die." I said.

"Who's the negative one now?" Stiles asked, I rolled my eyes.

"I think it's time for that plan of yours." Isaac said.

"Okay, on three, everyone howl as loud as possible okay?" I asked, everyone nodded. "One... Two... Three!" Everyone howled and the Alpha pack covered their ears. All of the sudden Derek and Peter showed up.

"Get that pack out of here." I said. Peter walked around the circle of ash and stood in front of them.

"This might hurt." He said. He flung his hand toward them and they all flew backwards, so far we couldn't see them anymore.

"Get outta here kiddo." He said, then him and Derek left.

"Scott, You're on Liam duty, you'll be carrying him." I said, Scott nodded and went inside, then came back out holding Liam. He was looking worse by the minute, his lips were purple and his eyes were completely drained of life when they weren't closed. I went to the ash and blew on it and it flew away.

"Can't anyone do that?" Lydia asked.

"Only the ones inside it." I responded. "I think it's best you go home Lydia. Your dad can protect you."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yeah, Stiles will you take her to her house please?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure." He responded, and the two walked off.

"Lani, he's freezing cold. Like he feels like he could have hypothermia." Scott said.

"Its 98 degrees out here." Cora said, looking at Liam, then back to me.

"Thats why we get to the vet as fast as humanly possible." I said, and we started running. We somehow made it there unseen and went inside.

"Doctor! We need your help!" I yelled. Then the vet came out of the hidden room. His eyes widened at the sight of Liam's limp body in Scott's arms.

"Oh boy..."
