Elizabeth's POV

The rays pouring through the window burned my eyes as I woke up. I groaned and turned over so that my back was facing the window but what do you know? There is another window and my eyes are yet again burning. I groaned even louder before putting my face into the pillow. I slowly fell back to sleep...until a loud BANG echoed throughout the room.

I jumped and fell out of the small, twin-sized bed. I groaned in pain for the third time that morning and just laid on the cold tile with my arm over my eyes. I was too tired to care where I slept, all I cared about was going to sleep. But it seems that the universe had other plans for me because someone tapped my cheek.

I open my left eye slightly and saw the guy from yesterday that turned from a wolf into a boy. He tilted his head to the side, examining me and then he nodded.

"You are better now, it seems." I groaned and gave up on trying to go back to sleep. I slowly stood up and sat down on the bed, my back against the wall.

"There wasn't anything wrong with me to begin with. However, there may be something wrong with you and your...family?" I didn't know what to call them exactly but "family" seemed suitable.

"You fell into me yesterday after the first stage of mating and since we have never encountered a hume-an before, Medicus did not know what to do. We hoped that you hume-ans can heal as fast as us. Also, we are a pack." I looked at him as if he were crazy because everything that came out of his mouth sounded crazy.

"First stage of mating? What is that?"

"There are three stages to mating. The first is locking eyes, recognizing that you are mates, and then acknowledging that you are indeed mates. The second stage is the marking. The third stage is the mating."

"Okay. You are definitely crazy. I need to get out of here. Can I use your phone?" He shook his head at me.

"We are all in the right state of mind, I assure you. However, I cannot let you use the phone until Alpha has questioned you."

"This is insane! First, you tell me you are Lycans or whatever. Then, you turn from wolves to humans and back again. After that, you tell me you've never interacted with a human which is total bullshit because you are all humans. At least, you look like it. And finally, you are holding me here to interrogate me and won't let me contact my family! I mean, it's not like they would answer my call, or even care about my situation, but still!"

"Your family does not care for you?" He asked as if it was the most foreign idea ever.

"No. They haven't cared for a long time." I whispered, not caring if he heard me or not. I looked up in surprise when his arms wrapped around me and he pulled me onto his lap.

"I shall care for you for as long as I live and beyond that. I will love you for eternity, Mate." He pulled me into his chest and I snuggled closer as the tears fell. I sniffled and he looked down at me.

"You are leaking from your oculi." He wiped away the tears from my eyes.

"I'm crying. Have you never heard of crying?" He shook his head slowly, still watching the tears fall down my cheeks.

"What is oculi...um. What is your name again?"

"I am called, Fidelis." He said proudly, his chest puffing out slightly.

"What is oculi, Fidelis."

"These." He said as he tapped the corners of my eyes. I laughed.

"Everyone calls these 'eyes', Fidelis." He looked at me with curiosity.

"We do not." I shook my head and chuckled.
