Chapter 9

Hey guys I'm back again with another chapter. Now i know that its been a few months since I last updated but its not because I've had writers block or anything, just lots of other work that I've had to get on with. I should have a few more updates by easter but if not then i won't be able to update until after my exams in June.

Naruto had been at the academy for a year now and, even though he was still in the early part of his training, he was still far ahead of the year, besides a few of the clan children. Over the year, he had decided not to show off his abilities and instead show off the bare minimum of what he needed to pass. After all, half of what was taught in these classes was completely. What kind of ninja would stop in the middle of a battle and start asking trivia questions. Only a few in the class knew of his real strength, most of them being clan heirs. He was good friends with one Sasuke Uchiha, who was a bright and cheerful boy, even if he didn't talk much, which is understandable considering the majority of the females present in the class obsessed over him. Others that knew of the real Naruto were, Shikamaru Nara, the strategist of the team ,and his friend Choji Akimichi, a little chubby but a nice boy all the same and someone you could trust its your secrets. Shino Aburame was another who knew, although Naruto could never be sure with him because he barely talked. The last one to know was a boy named Sai. He was weird. As well as this, Naruto had started wearing a henge due to his training having unwelcome side effects. He knew that if he was ever to drop his henge in class he would have the curse known as... fangirls, depending if they still thought he was stupid or not. Even without the academy, Naruto's skills far surpassed a normal academy student, if not reaching into genin level. His physical skills had skyrocketed after taking on the twins intense training method, as well as starting to learn how to harness the abilities he had inherited from them. He also found out what his chakra is, which turned out to be all five of the main affinities, once again because of the twins. However there were still things that he had yet to learn even about himself.

Naruto had just finished another long day at the academy doing nothing and not caring about the lessons he was being taught. But instead of falling asleep, he found himself somewhere different. The area was dark and confined, the walls resembling that of a sewer. At the bottom was a river of water, however Naruto never fell in. The young boy noticed a golden light suspended in the water, which Naruto speculated that it was leading him to the reason why he was here. After what seemed like hours of walking through winding sewer canals, he found himself in a large room, only slightly lighter than previous areas, with a large red cage at the end.   Even without going close to the cage, the blond could tell it held something full of hatred and spite. Despite this, he felt drawn towards it, and follow his instincts, he did. As he got closer, Naruto could just make out a large chakra manifestation held inside it, but instead of normal chakra, it was a red chakra manifestation. When he stood next to the cage, the chakra moved and shifted, making out the form of a giant fox, which was staring at him intently. 

Without any warning, the fox swiped one of its massive paws at the young blond who used his minimal training to jump out of the way. However, even though Naruto was nearly crushed, his face held almost no emotion. After seeing this, the fox looks on amused before bellowing out "Foolish mortal, I am the mighty Kyuubi, and you dare come into my domain!" however after seeing the boys impassive look, drops the act he has built up over the centuries. "You aren't scared of me, are you?" asked the fox with curious intent, having never witnessed a human not scared of him before. The boy just stared at the fox before shaking his head. "Theres no reason to be scared of something that cannot harm you." states the child before tilting his head and looking up at the bijuu. "But why are you here, and where is here?" he questions, once again observing his surroundings. The giant fox sighs before looking straight at the young blond in front of him.
