Jocks, jackets and a Jaw dropping kiss

Jace pov.

She was cute wrapped in my jacket, she was always cute but the thought of her perfume on my jacket made me smile. she looked up at me with her big green eyes, that had little flakes of gold scattered throughout them.

"Jace!" Izzy yelled as she stopped at a door I was so lost in thought I had walked past the Pizza parlor we were walking to.

"oh yeah Izzy, I'll be in a second. I just need to make a call," I replied as I walked and sat on a bench on the side of the road. she nodded and went inside. through the window, i saw them all pile into a booth by the window. I took out my phone and saw all the well-done messages from people I hardly ever talked to. when I heard a cough, one of the coughs people did to get the attention of someone. I looked up to see Clary standing, still wrapped in my jacket.

"Hey, Clary. What's up? You should be inside it's cold." she shrugged and sat down beside me.

"I wanted to talk to you." She places a hand on mine and smiled up at me. I looked at her seeing a glint in her eye that appeared every now and then. Her hand shivered on mine and I decided to wrap my arm around her. she was stiff at first but soon relaxed into my arm. "What about?" I asked smiling at how close we were.

"You are my friend, right?" She began, I felt like she had slapped me when she said friend but that's what I was, I nodded and smiled at her. "Good. I have to ask you something." I raised my eyebrow displaying my intrigue. "sure, ask away." I smiled as a leaned my head down.

"I know we are here to celebrate your win, but would you be mad if I left early? I'm not feeling very well." she looked away from as if ashamed. I tilted her head up toward me. "Why would I be mad? come on I'll walk with you back to your car." she looked relieved but confused.

"This is your celebration why would you leave?" she said as we started walking back up the road. I smiled and wrapped my arm around her shoulder.

"You're more important," I stated as I looked up the road. the street lights lit up the road, no cars in sight, Clary and I were the only ones walking. All of a sudden she stopped. her eyes wide as she looked up at me, her lips were pursed and we just looked at each other for a moment. No words were uttered and the only sound was the distant chirping of crickets. My heart felt as though it was about to burst and with just one simple word, a word I had heard millions of times before it did.

"Jace..." with that single word I couldn't take it anymore I pulled her in close and brought my lips close to her ear "I want this. I want us." I whispered, my lips brushing her ear with each syllable I spoke.

I felt her hand on the back of my neck, as she whispered. "Me too." and with that our lips met and moved perfectly in sync with each other. I deepened the kiss and she relaxed into it. A few moments later, she pulled back, so that our fore heads were resting on one another. "Wow." she mumbled and I smiled remembering her soft lips on mine, "Yeah." I replied. We stood in shock for a moment but i picked her up bridal style and ran back to the school car park. We climbed in her car, she let me drive because she was tired. I had Clary text Izzy that we had left. "How are you gonna get home you drove my car here?" Clary asked we pulled up to her house.

"Are Luke and your mom still out of town?" I asked, a smirk spreading across my face. she saw the smirk and scoffed.

"You can stay in the guest room and I'll drop you off when I pick Izzy like we did this morning." I smiled and we climbed out of the car. We walked in and she went straight to the kitchen, i made my way to the living room and lay on the couch. "Do you want some hot chocolate?" she said loudly from the kitchen.

"Sure." I said back

we sat talking for a while but all I could think about was that the kiss and what it meant "So, will you go out with me?" I asked when I couldn't take it anymore.

"Like on a date?" she said shyly
