Alia POV

"Yes. You came here when you were young. You came with your parents here. You were Azad's childhood friend. I remember. Then that one day, our kingdom was fallen on a demon's hand...and..." she started tearing.
Azad who was also sitting beside me stood and i saw a tear coming out of his eyes. Zainab was trying to control her feelings and dashed out of thaathi's room. Everyone was in tears and i was there, confused. Who is she referring to? I didnt come here. I cant remember! I was a childhood friend of Azad? It was my first time seeing him now! Before i wanted to talk, Azad turned around. I quickly grabbed his hands without looking at him and only stared at thaathi. His palms were shaking out of the blue. I squeezed it,signalling him to stay. From the corner of my eyes, i could see him looking down at me from his height. One of his tears dropped on my skin which made me come back to my senses. Realising that i was holding Azad's hands beyond my will, i dashed out of the room, straight to my chamber, without even turning back a little.

Azad's POV

My thaathi had lost her senses. Why should she tell her that? Alia isnt her. Thaathi had just became emotional. Why did Alia hold me? Whatever that i wanted to forgot, was there again.

I laid on my bed and shut my eye. I drifted off to sleep after some time and it was back again. The very same dream of my mansion being attacked and my mom being dragged away from me.

Author's POV

Alia and Azad both woke up from their bad dream. It was a dream that was unstoppable, uncontollable.

Azad's POV

It was Friday and i arrived from my Friday prayers. Lunch was provided. After lunch, i walked back to my room and on the way i saw Alia talking to Aisha. My heart skipped a beat when Alia made an eye contact with me.

Aisha POV

"Di, i want to learn how to fight. Can you teach me? And do you wear scarf when you gor ear?" i said fiddling with Alia's brooches.

"Tomorrow is the performance. Maybe the day after tomorrow? And for the war thingy, no. I take out my scarf. I tie my hair in a bun and wear my helmet and the armour covers me. Know what? Some of the younger knights would think that im a male until i talk to them or command them! And why suddenly?"she asked. I tried my very best not to stay quiet but i decided it wasnt the best timing.

"For fun. Im bored thats why. I can learn a new skill. Plus, wow! Like really? But you are so modest! Thats..really cool, when you are a warrior!"

"Ayye, its not cool. Let me show you something. See, this was done by a sword and the scar still didnt vanish. This one here was a burnt scar, the rivals attacked our camp once and luckily, no one died. Andd, this one here, was a slash. The pain is gone but the scar, will never. Sometimes i would look at other ladies with delicate skin and then i compare them with mine. Even women would be scared of me, thinking that im a male until i have a conversation with them. Its just fated that i ride horses and kill rivals" Alia shrugged.

The pain is gone;but the scar will never!

"and have you talked to them?" I asked changing the topic.

"Of course, they are also closer to me. They even sneaked into my room and saw my weapons. I didnt have to show it to them like what Azad told me. Thank Allah as he gave Azad some knowldege to return me my weapons back at least" Alia said while wrapping her hijab.

"Lets go out for a walk!" She exclaimed. I should really tell her.

Azad POV

"Tomorrow is our big day" i continued.

"Of course" Alia replied. "We shall do it. Bro fist man"Alia said and stretched her hand out. I did not bro fist back.

"Bhaiya do it" Aisha said. " Sorry i wont, im not your brother and will never be one!" I exclaimed refusing for the bro fist. "Okay then high-five then" she said and stretched her hand. I did high-fived back.

"I hope everything goes as per planned" i replied. Alia nodded profusely in return. I then saw Bhabhi walking towards us and claimed that she wanted to talk to Alia for awhile. Alia excused herself. "She is fun right bhaiya?"Aisha said.

Alia's POV

Bhabhi came and brought me away. Luckily, i didnt want to stare at Azad for such a long time. It was surely evident that he did not bothered to comb his hair. He was wearing a white shirt and plack pants with the top button loosened.

"Well, sorry for yesterday. Everything was soo emotional yesterday. Azad was seven years old when his mother, Rani Halimaji was captured by our rival. And that time, they attacked the castle and things went hay-wire. My father-in-law, Nawfal's father unfortunately died in the attack.

And then there was just silience. My mother-in-law was shattered. She was carrying Aisha in her womb. Among everyone, i was told that Azad was the boy who was hurt the most. He didnt eat at all. Poor him. He stopped playing with children. The people talked ill about his mother. Saying that she eloped away. In school, his friends told him that his mother ran away. He got angry and picked up fight with his friends. That concludes to a deep mark on the top of his brow. And ever since then, Azad changed. The king that abducted his mother has passed away ,but, we dont know whether Azad's mom is still alive" she said.

I was astonished. How could he have a past that is soo bad. I know the pain of losing my mum. It was just a nightmare to me. Thats why he always looked like this. And thats why he had a mark above his brow.

"His character changed too. But nowadays, he is changing. He smiles, he doesnt scream that much, he doesnt has the grumpy face anymore. But as his bhabhi, i know that he still isnt over that incident. Its still locked inside his heart...yup. I felt like you needed to know and told you..I shall take my leave now" Zainab said and left. So much happened and he has been bearing it for 20 years!

"Should i talk to him now? Oh my!" I said walking up and down my room. However later that day i decided not to. Afterall, we were getting ready for the next day.
