Authors POV

The days went by very quickly and Alia was also healing due to the strength of the herbal oil.

Back at Raja's bedroom, a meeting was held and everyone in the family was present.

"Well, you all might have known that the uninvited guests are punished and prisoned. And Azad, your one month is about to end in a week. I hope you took a good and wise decision of whom you are going to live your life with" Raja said, looking intensely at Azad.

Azad cleared his throat. "Abba, i wish to wed Alia. She saved us from harm and she is very close to Aisha as well. You might be even convinced by the way she spoke and the personalities she has. She is really someone that could guard the region. And comparing with the others, she is one that would be commited and steadfast in her duty of being the Rani" Azad finished with a smile on his face.

"I have had never seen you look this happy. Im glad you took the right decision. We, the adults, have also decided that Alia is the perfect one for you. So we can start the wedding preparations! Azad you can announce this during dinner today" Raja commented.

Azad was elated and so was Aisha. He was thinking of a way to break the news to Alia and wondered how her reaction would be; he wondered how life would be with her.

"I dont agree with this!" Barkatji boomed. All turned around to face her. "I think you have forgotten Salma. Remember? She was betrothed to Azad, when he was young. Im sure you all would have forgotten" Barkatji reminded.

Azad looked at her curtly.

"Azad beta, as an aunt and in place of your ma, i know whats right and wrong for you. Remember your lamba? The plant that you have grown for 20 years? You named it after her. How can you forget? Not only that, your dad, my brother, had also promised to marry you off with her and here you are agreeing to marry this girl,Alia?"she questioned going in circles around Azad.

Azad immediately left the place without acknowledging anyone.

"Bahiya, how can you break your promise?"Barkatji continued.

"Azad lost his mum; i do not want him to lose his wife too. This girl looks like she would run away with money and wealth we have. My husband and son couldnt be the king according to my desire. But at least, i would want to conduct Azad's wedding" she said, convincing.

"If thats the case, where is Salma now?" Raja asked Barkatji.

"She just returned from studying overseas. We could always go to Al-Qaima to visit her. If you say a yes, i can inform them that we are coming there for a week perhaps, and ask for hand in marriage"Barkat suggested.

"Okay. But one condition, if Salma isnt interested, Alia would be marrying Azad and there would be no change to that. It doesnt matter whether if she is a knig-"

"It does matter! What would others say? 'Raja Mubashir Khan Raizada's son married a mere knight? Wouldnt they look down on us? Have you forgotten your promise again. I bet Azad still has the ring!" Barkatji interupted and Raja raised his brow.

"Still, my orders are orders! Alia would follow us to Al-Qaima as well. We cant simply let go the woman who saved us all. And in addition, Aqil, the companion will also come with us. It would safe and at the same time, we are paying back to them"he finished.

"Isnt my son, Mumbad enough to provide safety for us?" Barkat questioned.

"Orders are orders. Dont let me repeat!" Raja instructed.

Azad POV

Salma? Her name was Salma? And i do remember who she was. She was my childhood friend. She was also the princess of Al-Qaima. I didnt see her for the past 20 years after that incident happened. She was my best friend when i was young. She would always visit us every now and then. She and i used to be the best partners in the world. Be it in hide and seek or any other games we played, we both sticked together at all times. She always love to ride horses. In fact, when it was the first time i got Zaki, both of us rode it together. I was 7 and she was 4. It was sure the best experience we both ever had.

However, I was in dilemma. I was sort of engaged to Salma, and there was Alia, who just recovered from all those injuries from saving us. Who am i to choose now?

Was Abba mad? Why must he listen to Barkatji? Doesnt mean that she is the eldest, she had the rights to rule! Without thinking, i opened my door and searched for abba.

"Abba i need to to talk to you" i said.

"If its about your wedding, then go ahead" he said rocking on his rocking chair.

"What are we going to do? Does that means that i have to choose one between two?" I asked, placing both my hands at my hip.

"Im afraid so. I promised Raja Imran to marry you off to his daughter and at the same time, we have Alia who nearly sacrificed her life.  We would be going to meet Salma in another two more days and Alia and the young boy would come with us as well. You decide between both. I think Salma would have a change of heart. Afterall, she studied in a foreign country" he replied.

"How about the others? What are you going to tell them during dinner?"i questioned.

"Simple. I would tell that you are marrying Alia. No one would ask me about it. If Salma isnt interested, Alia would surely marry you, if Salma says yes, then Alia could simply marry Mumbad" he replied. I was just standing there, rooted to the ground. Why should Alia come and change my life around? Why should i give Alia away when I lov--
