Upon A Midnight Kiss

Chapter 4

School was finally over and my friends are at my house getting ready for a party. It's more like a 'welcome-back-to-school' party. I find it weird for the fact that they celebrate going back to school. I really don't want to go, I still need to do my homework  but my friends have other plans. They just barged in here like they freaking own the place saying going there is a 'must'.

"Guuyss, are you done? We're gonna be late for the party that I don't even want to go."  I groaned. These girls take forever to dress up. 

"Shut up Athena!"  "We want to look good. Who knows I might kiss someone at midnight?!" they both squealed and I just rolled my eyes and muttered 'stupid'. Unfortunately, Faith heard me and gave me a mean glare. I help up my arms in the air and gave her a mile showing her my perfect set of white teeth.

You see, in this town they believe that giving someone a kiss at midnight, he/she is your soul-mate. Stupid I know. Every single person believes this but never really tried unless kissing someone while you're drunk. Sadly, it doesn't count. Which, again, is stupid. I'm pretty sure, you're parents kiss at midnight. Also, boyfriends and girlfriends who sneak out at night. See my point. But nooo, it doesn't count. It has to be just a friend or someone you don't have any relation with. The whole 'midnight-kiss' is stupid.

Back to the present, I am wearing a formal one-shoulder purple dress that clung to my body. My curves was very visible, hence why I bought it in the first place. Mitch wore a short ball gown spaghetti strap and Faith wore something similar to Mitch's but in a different color. They're at the level of weirdness where they like to wear same design of clothes. There was a time when they forced me to do it with them and the result wasn't good. I ended up running back home crying my heart out to mom. After that I didn't go to school for a whole week. I was just at home praying they would forget and it worked.. until, Mitch and Faith uploaded the picture of us wearing the same clothes. I ignored them for the whole day, not even a single glance. The next day I went to school I saw a very big banner saying I'M SO SORRY ATHENA and they also bought me a cake and a very very very big teddy bear. It was twice the size of me. Well, what do you expect? I was just a short 9 yrs old girl.

"Athena! let's go" Faith shouted at my ears. I jumped up high and gave her a glare. "What the hell was that for?!" 

"We were calling you for like a hundred times and you just sat there like a statue. Geesh" Mitch answered

"If I get deaf, I'll kill you," They just shrugged and walk out like nothing happen. "Hey! Wait for me!" 

We arrived at the party late. There's already people who passed out at the lawn. Couples making out. EW. And other things you find at a teenage party. 

"Okay, I dare you to kiss someone at midnight." We are playing Truth Or Dare and as you guessed Mitch is the one giving me the stupid dare

"What? Mitch that's not allowed. You know that" Faith said while the others playing with me agreed.

"She said she doesn't believe in it, so lets give it a shot." Mitch replied. Faith was about to reply when I cut her off. "Deal."

"What? You're actually gonna do it" Everyone looked at me like a just grew another head.

"What? I'm gonna prove everyone wrong. The legend is nothing but a myth." I said using a monotone. I'm perfectly fine at doing it. Its not like I haven't been kissed my someone. I kissed a lot of boys already but that doesn't mean I'm a slut. I kiss them either I'm drunk or they're my boyfriend.

With that we moved on to the next player. 

--11:55 pm--

"Are you sure you'll do this?" Faith asked for the tenth time. I just shrugged but said nothing.

"Okay, all you got to do is kiss the person you first see at midnight." we are currently at the street looking for the boy that I'll kiss. I was hoping it wouldn't be some fat guy who just hate a burger or a weirdo or worst a killer! 

"Athena, It's 11:59. It's time for kissing." Mitch informed me. I nodded and went to the sidewalk finding a boy that I can finally kiss so I can go home already. 

"10 seconds Athena!" Mitch whisper/shouted. 

Shoot. Where will I find a boy at this hour?! "5, 4." 

"Athena, what are you-" I kissed whoever this man was just as Mitch counted 1. 

It was finally midnight and I was kissing a total stranger and this stranger was kissing me back! 

I noticed Mitch, Faith and the others was silent. Not a single sound can be heard. I opened my eyes to see the man that I was kissing.

Oh

My

God!

I pushed him as hard as I can. It can't be. Why him? This was even worst than kissing a killer.

Why the hell would I kiss-

"I always knew you wanted me" he said, smirking at my shocked face. "babe" he added,

I, Athena Blaire Brook, kissed Nathan Cordova. in the lips. at midnight.

With that last thought. I ran.

The Midnight Kiss! They finally KISS! I'm so happy! :D :D 

I was freaking out these past few days cuz I don't know what to do. I still don't know if I'll continue writing.. :(
