E.

"Don't forget your inhaler, Eddie." My mom said hesitantly. It'd taken me months of begging for her to finally agree to summer camp only with the promise that I'd stay by her side every day once school started. It's a promise I could think about later, but now, it's time to do something for a change.

"I know, mom. I've gotta go now." I said running towards the door with my suitcase. I jumped at the sound of her protest.

"Edward Kaspbrak, aren't you forgetting something?" I sighed in defeat, trotting over to her and pressing a kiss to her cheek, glad my one friend wasn't there to witness it.

I walked the few blocks from home to Bill's house. The kids at school call him stuttering Bill, I respect him too much for that though.

I arrived to see Bill kneeled down, talking to his kid brother George in a hushed tone.

"I t-told mom and dad I'd loo-look after you so you've g-g-gotta behave while we're gone." Bill used his stern voice and I looked away to seem less intrusive.

Moments later, we began walking to town-hall where the buses were waiting.

Dozens of kids were filling the busses by the time we arrived. Bill wasn't surprised though, he told me that the camp was finally coming back and everyone wanted a part in it. It'd been a regular Derry tradition but they shut it down in 1960 when 35 kids vanished without a trace or so Bill said.

I began to think it was a mistake leaving the house but soon forgot that when I saw Bill's jaw drop the the ground.

I followed his gaze, confused. He was watching Betty Ripsom talk to Stanley Uris.

I didn't know a lot about Stanley Uris except for the fact that he was the Rabbi's son. As for Betty, well, girls don't speak to Bill and I.

I zoned out as we climbed into our seats, it wasn't until we arrived at camp did I finally wake up from my daze.

"Eddie," I felt Bill shove me, "Eddie, they're calling your name."

I then heard a male voice calling me by my full name just as my mom had. Bill pushed me in the direction of Jonathan Byers. I groaned as I heard a chorus of snickers coming from the crowd of kids behind me.

"Guess the losers get stuck with the loser chaperones," I heard someone say.

Once Jonathan was done calling the names of all his campers, I was pleased to know I would be in the same group at Bill. The rest of our group consisted of Betty Ripsom, Stanley Uris, Beverly Marsh, Elle Byers, Ben Hanscom, Mike Hanlon, Gretta Keene, and Richie Tozier.

Bill was concerned about George, though. He was too young to be in our group so he joined the younger kids with a separate chaperone. I squeezed his shoulder in hopes to calm him down. Seconds later an egg flies past my head, striking Ben in the chest. He takes it, looking down at his ruined shirt in defeat. I duck behind Bill as Beverly Marsh screams towards the Bower's Gang who are laughing their sick asses off.

"You assholes!" I gulped. What the hell is she trying to do? Get herself killed.

I rolled my eyes, ready to tell Bill but he was no longer by my side. I swirled around only to see him a few feet away talking to Jonathan.

"You d-don't understand, I n-need to sha-share cabins with, with Eddie." I heard him say.

"Sorry, Bill. These are already assigned randomly. You're with Stanley Uris in cabin B3. Eddie's already paired up with Richie Tozier." I panicked at the thought.

I'm stuck with Richie Trashmouth? How could the summer get any worse?
