Friday. June 12, 1987.

The missing case of Betty Ripsom had spread a panic across camp that nobody could shake off. Camp counselors had ordered a camp lockdown, no ins and outs, no cabin swapping, no campfire night. Everyone was to stay in their cabins until the counselor's returned from their search.

Jonathan Byers side, running a hand through his hair as he walked across camp, calling Betty's name. Leafs crunched under his shoes as he ventured off the trail for better coverage. Steve was a few feet behind him, holding Nancy's hand. Jonathan insisted on searching for Betty alone, Steve being more than willing to allow it if his girlfriend hadn't scolded him. To Steve's dismay, Nancy believed it had to be a group effort, to be safe.

"Any word from her cabinmate?" Steve asked as they walked deeper into the wilderness.

Nancy shook her head. "Gretta? No. I didn't want to leave her alone, though." She said, scanning the ground as they walked. "I told her to stay with Beverly Marsh and Elle in cabin A9."

Jonathan nodded, "that's a good idea, that way she's not by herself in a cabin." he said leading the way.

"What about your brother?" Nancy rose an eyebrow at Jonathan. "Don't you two share a cabin? Who is he with?"

Jonathan stopped walking, turning back to Nancy and Steve. "I let him stay in cabin B4 with Edward Kaspbrak and Richard Tozier."

Steve and Nancy shrugged, as the three continued their search for the missing girl.

Meanwhile in cabin B3, Stan and Bill were taking advantage of a day locked inside. In the most inappropriate spirit of the day, Stan and Bill took it upon themselves to practice dancing to lighten their moods. Stan stood slightly taller than Bill as they held hands, attempted to take steps in sync but only tripping over each other.

"S-Sorry," Bill blushed as he stumbled over Stan's foot for the fifth time. Stan shook his head, pecking Bill on the cheek before helping him regain balance by placing a hand on his hip.

"Let's try it like this, huh?" Stan questioned, holding one of Bill's hands and urging the boy to put the other hand on his shoulder. Bill smiled, it reminded him of the type of dance he'd seen people do at weddings.

"I know it's not t-the best time to say this b-but," Bill paused, staring into Stan's eyes. "I'm really h-happy."

Stan grinned, leading them along to imaginary music, pressing kisses to Bill's lips every few minutes. "I'm happy too."

In the next cabin over, Eddie, Richie and Will weren't having as good of a time. Will had made himself right at home to the dismay of Richie who has forced to swallow his guilt as Will enthusiastically spoke about finally meeting people who understood what he was going through. Eddie was less fazed, smiling softly at Will's words. He thought it was cool that Will could express himself so openly, without fear of judgement. The two had become quick friends despite having never spoken before. Will was showing Eddie a few comic books he'd brought from home and they bonded over their mutual love for Watchmen.

If Richie could have it his way, he would've left hours ago than be stuck locked away with gay and gayer, as he liked to call them.
