Nico POV

I hate my job. I work as a part of the staff at the royal palace of Solace. King Apollo has 5 children and a deceased wife, and 4 of his children are the epitome of conceited.Michael, Lee, Austin and Kayla are the youngest of the five children and expect the staff to do everything for them, but then there's King Apollo's eldest son, Will Solace.

Today is the day of Will's ball. Each soon-to-be-king always has a ball so he can meet a fair maiden to become his bride. 

"Hey! Neeks!" My friend Leo said running up to me. Leo is the blacksmith of the castle, and is surprisingly good at it.

"Had any thought about Mr.Will Solace?!" He asked cheekily

"Shut Up!!!" I say and punch him in the arm

Leo is the only one of my friends in the castle who knows I'm gay. I would tell my sister Hazel but she's a truth minstrel for Will so she would be obligated to tell him.

~That night at the ball~

Will POV

I'm going to be coronated king in a few days, so my ball is tonight. I have a crush on someone but I know they won't be at the ball, and I don't assume, I KNOW. So I have to sit here all night and meet girls who will try and suck up, but will never be queen.

"Your Highness!" 

"Your Highness!" 

Two girls, a red-head and a raven haired girl said to me

"Hello" I say duly, clearly not enjoying myself

All that night girls kept coming up to me and addressing me "Flirtatiously". If your wondering why I don't care all these beautiful girls are coming up to me wanting to be my queen, it's because I'm gay. Anyway the person I have a crush on is the mortician of the entire kingdom, he takes care of the deceased, Nico. 

Back to the party I catch a glimpse of Nico walking around the castle talking to some people on the kitchen staff, his raven hair glimmering in the lighting of the ballroom. Then a blonde girl waltzed down the entrance stairs and walked up to me. 

"Your Highness!" She said meekly

I was about to get up and ignore her when my minister of court whispered into my ear urgently

"You have to choose a maiden! She's the last of them!" and then he walked of

I sighed, got up and asked her to dance. we walked to the middle of the dance floor, my hand grudgingly in hers, and we started to dance.

Midway through the dance with the random girl, I locked eyes with Nico and gave him a small smile. He smiled back and went back to.....Leo I think the blacksmith's name was. Then near the end of the dance, the clock struck 12 and the girl I was dancing with fled, which I had absolutely no problem with. 

I went to the refreshments table, where I found Nico's sister Hazel, my minister of truth, talking with the animal keeper Frank.

"Hazel! Do you know where your brother is?" I asked

"Uhm, no your majesty, but I believe he's talking with the librarian and the pool keeper in the library." She said respectfully

"Thank you!" I said and started to make my way to the library

Nico POV

When Will smiled at me, then went back to dancing with the girl, I started tearing up, I felt like my heart was being ripped out. my true love was dancing with someone else, also that other person was a girl. I ran to the library where Percy and Annabeth always vacated to when they could take a break, and they were talking about the blonde girl.

I cried and they tried to comfort me, but I didn't want to feel better right then, I wanted to sulk

Then Prince Will ran into the library

MUAHAHA!!! Cliff hanger b**ches!!! I'll continue this later though, don't worry!
