I settled in my clay den, not mine. I had been captured after a killed a wolf or two. After Anita had been killed, I realized what I had felt towards her. She was only a full moon younger than me. Hard vines and roots tied me down, I had never been captured before.
It was horrible.
I shook my head, but my restraints tugged. It was a tiny room, fire crawling at the walls. Another ember fall on his fur, it lit for a moment but went out. Why, why Anita!? She was a beautiful young shifter. Then it came to me, a form hardly taken. Human. I began to do so. I burst from my restraints, I was a bit wobbly on my legs for a split second, but then crawled out. Wolves stared. Humans had been wiped out a long long time ago when the skies turned black, but they had cleared.
I knew where to go, and what to do. I grabbed Anitas' body -which lie in a hollowed tree- and ran for Moon Stream. There you could revive someone, hopefully Anita. But when I began to run, they began biting me. I Shifted into a wolf and carried her in my jaws, I was much faster now. One caught up, but I wasn't able to get away.
