"Come on, come on...", I mumble under my breath, staring at the clock hung above the door to the classroom.

10 seconds...

Its the last day of school, and the first day of summer. You can bet your ass I'm ready to get out of here and have some fun. School is so damn dreadful, even being the school sweetheart.

"Now class, I can't stress to you enough how important it is to read over the summer..."

5 seconds...

Blah, blah, blah. She's at again about how reading expands vocabulary. Come on lady! No one in here is gonna read, you and I both know that!

"Stay safe this summer kids! Remember not to break curfew, there are dangerous people out there–"

Riiiiiing!

Before the poor lady could even finish her sentence, the rest of the class was rushing out the door. Being polite, I made sure to stay behind and give a proper goodbye.

"Have a good summer Mrs. Felton, I'll be sure to get in as much reading as possible!", I lie. The older lady adjusts her glasses before giving me a warm smile. "You too sweetheart, have fun!"

Waving a gentle goodbye, I begin to make my way out of the classroom and into the crowded hallway.

"Hey Flower! Wait up!"

Oh no.

Slowing my pace to a stop, my body pivots towards Henry Bowers and his little gang of friends.

"Hello, Henry. Is there something I could help you with?"

A strained smile rests on my face, eye almost twitching. He simply smirks in reply, stepping closer to me and pretty much towering over me.

Oh god, someone please help.

I was new to the school, and I never really liked Henry Bowers, or his little posse for that matter. He was creepy, and he bullied practically anyone who didn't know how to stand up for themselves, or couldn't.

Yet even in my short time here, I managed to attract his attention. Along with most of the schools, admittedly. He seemed to pick on a group of boys in my class frequently, poor kids.

Despite my silent prayer, no one stops or even pays us any mind. So I take it upon myself to move away from him.

"Sign my year book, would ya?"

In response, my shaky hand reaches out to take his yearbook.

"Do you gotta pen?" I mumble.

Quickly, he nudges Belch, who in return stumbles to access a pen. Finally, he finds one in his pocket, and hands to Henry, who hands it to me.

There's an awkward silence in the air as the pen dances swiftly across the page.

Have a good summer, let's hang out sometime.

Secretly, I pray he doesn't take me up on that offer. Ever.

Before he has time to read what I wrote, I quickly turn and begin to speed away from him.

"See ya Henry!"

As I'm hurriedly exiting the school, I stumble into another person.
