The Ocean's Melody

It's as if time had decided to slow down. The days were longer, the nights drawled on. It had been about a month since Evelina had left the cabin. She knew she couldn't of stayed in there forever.

Evelina had done something drastic when she came before the Artic Ocean. She saw bits of ice already floating around

"Screw it, how bad could it get." She had mumbled to herself before carefully setting a foot above the water, and she watched it freeze instantly at her touch. Evelina took off in a sprint as she tugged at the coat around her and ran in a random direction where she hoped she would find land soon.

She did.

She came to a land she learned was Greenland, a place mostly made of ice. Evelina instantly liked it there. The first small town she came to was called Aputsiaq. She was a stranger who had walked in from the North.

Everyone in town avoided her.

It wasn't until a girl, maybe in her early twenties, offered her an act of kindness.

"Where you come from, barn?" She asked Evelina one day when the young Frost had walked into a small cafe.

"Storybrooke, Maine." Evelina simply replied as the girl raised an eyebrow.

"Storybrooke? Never heard of it." She mumbled and Evelina shrugged.

"Small town."

"So an American chick. Hvor længe du planlægger at blive i kedelig gammel?" The young lady asked and Evelina shrugged.

"Not much. I have to get back home. Someone's waiting for me." She responded and the girl gave a teasing grin.

"A boy? I can tell." Evelina nodded.

"It's complicated." Evelina mumbled and the girl chuckled.

"You just described every relationship out there, honning." The girl said as she handed Evelina a hot drink. Evie raised her eyebrows at it, for she had not ordered it.

"On the house." The girl smiled before she held out her hand as an act of friendship.

"I'm Melody. Melody Ericsdatter."

Evelina smiled and accepted her hand as a handshake.

"Evelina Frost. Pleased to meet you." She said and took the hot drink in her hands. She held it tight as she began to drink the hot spring tea Melody had provided her with. Evelina didn't like the tea one bit, but she didn't want to seen rude to her new friend. So Evelina sucked it up and drank it all. She nearly gagged the tea back out but she forced herself to keep it down.

"Delicious." Evelina lied through her teeth with a grim smile. Melody looked pleased and wiped her hands on her apron before throwing it onto the counter.

"Come, my shift is done. You can stay with me for the time being." She said and pulled Evelina out of the small diner and back out into the cold.

"Has he been eating?" Sebastian questioned.

"Yes."

"Seems to be getting better." Bash noted and the blond boy nodded.

"Indeed."

"What about the girl?"

"Which one? The blonde one or the brunette?"

"The brunette, you dimwit, why on earth would I be talking about Evelina."

"Well, excuse me. What about the brunette?"

"Did she find her way back to Neverland?"

"Aye, she did."

"Well that's not good."

"You're telling me. Her brothers will not be happy to learn she has returned."

"Why exactly is she there?"

"She seems to believe she is the rightful ruler of Neverland." Sebastian scoffed when he heard that.

"What a joke. The poor girl is delusional. We can't let Pan know she is on the island. He will lose it and possibly go on a killing spree, and the girl will be the first one to fall."

"At this point I'm more than willing to let him."

"Don't talk rubbish, Felix." Sebastian snapped from the other side of the mirror transmitter. The blond boy scrunched his eyebrows and gave a loud huff.

"We have to tell him." Felix mumbled.

"Peter Pan has enough problems on his plate. Some of which he isn't even aware of. Why burden him with another?" Sebastian snapped and ruffled his hair. He quickly glanced behind him and then turned back to his best friend.

"Does that girl suspect anything?" Felix questioned.

"Who? The blonde or the-"

"I'm talking about that little traveling companion that you have seemed to take a liking towards."

"Lily? Well, she still thinks I don't know her little secret." Bash informed and Felix chuckled.

"What a fool."

"She and the brunette can cause great destruction and chaos if they ever are to meet." Sebastian continued and Felix nodded.

"We have to take drastic measures. To protect Neverland."

"And the boys." Sebastian included.

"And even Evelina." Felix said as he ruffled his hair. He looked back to Bash.

"How is the search going?"

"I've got a friend who has informed me she's in Greenland. In a little town called Aputsiaq. She will keep an eye on Evelina until I get there."

"And can she be trusted?" Felix questioned as he narrowed his eyes.

"I'd trust her with my own life."

"And does this mystery girl have a name?"

"Course she does. Her name is Melody Ericsdatter."

Felix's eyes widened in realization when he heard the name and even let out a chuckle.

"Queen Ariel's daughter? The song to Neverland's ocean. How did you convince her to leave Neverland to help you with the favor?" Felix questioned and Sebastian shrugged.

"Saved her life a couple decades back, no big deal."

"And if Ariel finds out... She will tell the Charming's. And if the Charming's find out they will tell Evelina's father." Felix trailed on as he watched Sebastian merely shrug again.

"We have to hope Melody is a good liar and won't tell her mother."

The boys fell silent as they processed the problems they were about to encounter.

"We can't let them meet." Felix concluded. Sebastian silently agreed.

"Track down the brunette. We can't let Wendy Darling anywhere near Pan or camp."

"And what do I do when I find her?" Felix questioned with a raised eyebrow. Sebastian huffed.

"Put an arrow through her heart."

Have you ever accidentally published a chapter without it being finished and had a mini heart attack and thought your life was ruined?

I have.

P.S- Aputsiaq isn't really a place in Greenland. Had to make it up because I don't know what city lies in the further north of Greenland.

It is a native Greenlandic name and it means snow crystal or snowflake.
