"My, so you did marry an Earthen woman after all," Saui commented as she sat with her legs crossed on a couch in Vegeta's plainly-decorated living-room--for a multi-millionaire. "She has not the looks of a Saiyan. What else have I missed here..."

"Yes. Her name is Bulma. Bulma, my elder sister. Be on good terms."

"A pleasure to meet you," Trunks' mom joined.

"Always the same here, love."

Their respective children, meanwhile, had properly finished their own rounds of greetings and get-to-know. Bana is having a look at the chamber that is known in his uncle's family as the Gravity Machine. For the moment, we will focus on the parents.

Bulma had been slightly annoyed by Saui's remarks about her origins, but curiosity prevailed.

"So you are really my husband's elder sister. That means you're of the royal family too, huh."

"I am, of course. I've also checked that some of ours had arrived before Vege. What had become of them?"

"Found incapable of fighting," was Vegeta's plain answer, inwardly sweating even more, "and, well... put in their place."

"What?" Saui raised an eyebrow, "Nappa, your aide--and Raditz, Kakarot's brother--both dead?"

"You heard me!"

"I see. So here on Earth only you and Kakarot had survived, eh... my, I would love to spar with you again sometime."

Vegeta wiped his brow of cold sweat.

"With you, I won't risk it, Sister... By the way," he quickly added, "to come here with a son... I have not had the honor of meeting your Earthen husband."

"Earthen? Earthen?" she repeated with mock surprise, then burst out laughing. "Who would even contemplate that?"

"Eh..? Do you mean to say..?"

"Bana's dad is not from here."

"Not from this neighborhood?"

"Not of this planet, dummy."

"Then..?!"

"Do you happen to remember Seika?"

Vegeta was silent for a while.

"Oh, that Saibamen keeper. What of him?"

"Next time, refer to him as your brother-in-law."

He leapt up. "The heck?! That lower-class... and you...!"

"Tch. For us who are of royal family, there is of course no higher class around other than that of the King. Still, Sei's a Saiyan."

Vegeta's sweats came unbidden now, and he seemed to lose the strength to stand. "Then that would make Bana a--"

"A Saiyan child, through and through--unlike my nephew that is half-breed at best."

Vegeta bowed ninety degrees and even looked poised to kiss his sister's shoes in turn. "My highest respect... for another pair of full-blown Saiyans to visit our humble dwelling! That must be why he is so blond, and I thought it natural!"

"You mean Bana?"

"Yes!"

"Excuse me?" Bulma cut in, "that Saiyan thing aside, would you mind if I ask how long you'll be staying with us? Ought I to get a room ready?"

"Oh, that won't be necessary, dear. I apologize for the early hour, but we practically just came in to say hi. I trust Bana is having fun with your child, so why not give them some more time. Meantime, I would love to hear how it was that my vain little brother hooked up to you--if you don't mind?"

Vegeta, sitting again, did not fail to notice that while Saui was being polite to his wife, she had not yet bothered to mention her by name.

"So this is the Gravity Room... Doesn't look much to me..."

Bana had come round the chamber three times now, and finding nothing so unusual, had stopped before his cousin who is still amazed at how blond his hair is.

"Hey, Trunks--you said this is where you train?"

"Yeah."

"Everyday?"

"Yep. Almost. The gravity level could be raised up to 250x, I heard; but I haven't really tried. Last time I couldn't handle it without turning Super Saiyan; but I've gotten much stronger now."

"Oh? But you're what, eight years? Can you really do it?"

"Hey, don't look down on me; you're just two years older! Even my dad was surprised when I did it first time."

Bana tsked. "No fun without the gravity being set to that."

"Darn... alright, just wait here; I'll get someone to set it right. Heard you're a Saiyan too, so how about we test our endurance? First one to stay normal after fifteen minutes here in 150x gravity, wins."

"Fine by me. No bets, though."

The request was made, and the children waited. A small screen displayed the gravity level; it's now at 50x, and a low hum could be heard at every increase.

80x.

"Still feel nothing..." Bana said, to Trunks' nod.

"This is my usual level to start jogging around. No sweat."

100x.

"Are you sure it's not broken?"

Bana began to perspire while sitting cross-legged mid-air. Trunks whiled away his time doing 100 times push-ups.

120x.

It was getting difficult for Trunks to walk. His cousin was circling the room for the sixth time at normal pace.

"Ngh... hey, are you sure you're not cheating? Being so blond, who could guess if you haven't turned Super Saiyan already, huh?"

"What do you mean? It's still my normal form. Super Saiyans won't look like this."

"True, but... Ungh!" Trunks halted, breathing heavily, after taking yet another step. "*Pant...**Pant...* You look so... unaffected."

"Perhaps because you're younger?" Bana dug his own nose and flicked away the pickings.

"Guh... I don't believe it's the only thing. And no trashing in my parents' property!"

"Oh, relax, they'll get it cleaned. Meantime, we got ten minutes here still--unless you wanna give up sooner."

"...You're teasing me?!"

"Why not? You got no other siblings, I see; same case with me. We could use a little chat. Now," Bana approached and tapped Trunks' shoulder, "you sure you won't need to try getting a move on, before you have some roots growing? Look, it's already 150x."

"Ah... you're right!"

"So?" Bana winked. "Give up?"

"Ugh... I guess so, for now. Man, and I haven't even seen you fight--at this rate you could Ki-blast me easily. It's really getting hard to breathe..."

"Stay there, then; let me handle this one." The Saiyan child went away while arching his back. "Nice display of fortitude by the way, Trunks; my dad would applaud it."
