Right... so we're right back to where we left off. Trunks' sweet-talking 'bout that freaking spar proved to be of little use; I got to fight him after all!

Not sure if I oughta be happy or annoyed 'bout this... I mean, why would Cousin not just content himself with facing me in the first place? That way I could've trained more...

...Then again, that way, I might not have gotten the chance to know of Alba's experience, nor that I had been dead once and so figure out the real reason behind Mom's stubborn restraint on my joining in the dance 'gainst Beerus back then.

Must've been hard for her, and she's not gonna let it repeat if she could help it...

Also, for some reason Mom looked so happy today.

"I'm home~"

"Oh, welcome, dear. Anything new at school?"

...Did she not even realize my being outside way longer than allowed? She'd be very strict when she does...

...Or it might just have slipped my mind that I already told her about that, sometime after that loving embrace.

"Uh... nothing much."

"Well then, I do have something new. Remember how you mentioned that I ought to train myself?"

"Well?"

"I secured the promise of he who is more than worthy to taste my power~"

"Skip the riddles, Mom. Been through a demanding day."

"Why, son, won't you take any jokes?"

"Say I'm not quite used to it, even from you. So who's this lucky guy, to get the chance to dance with you again after all the hard years?"

"None other than my own brother."

"...Okay, that's funny. I've just got Trunks in on the line too. Guess we Saiyans at last got to have some fun together in some kind of parent-son tag team dance, eh?"

"Well, well--that sure is a very nice way to put it. Anyway, it seems we're in for some real fun at last."

"Any clue about the where?"

"None yet. I expect to get a call from whichever of them about it soon."

I tsked. "No fun."

"Oh, come on. How often do you get to know your own family as closely as this?"

"There would be no spectators?"

"I didn't recall Buu asking for any when he performed his lethal display. Besides, tomorrow's your papa's time of rest--" my cheek got pinched. "Just go on with it, now, will you."

"U-understood..."

She let it go, and turned to leave.

"Glad we cleared up on that~"

"Mom!"

"...What?"

"Don't you think we oughta do some last-minute training?"

"With what? We don't possess anything like the Gravity Chamber like the Briefs for a start, and an open-air one would surely attract unnecessary attention."

"Still..."

"Dear Bana, I believe we've done every bit of training we could hope to do when we had the chance. Now, I say we rely on them and hope they'll be adequate in the face of opponents more or less of the same class; just make an end of this. It's just a spar, I don't think there'll be any fatalities unless my brother's succumbing to his original nature."
