*watching the first tree because I'm an emotional wreck and poor little babies you didn't deserve anything*
*watching Stacy's video*
Commenter: ok, but how sad would it be if what you wrote to your children as the fox was carved into the tree at the end?
In case you don't know, at the very end of the game, the mom fox is heartbroken
*spoilers* because all of her babies got killed by the same wolf
The first ever tree awakens and gently asks the mother fox if she wants to tell her children anything up in heaven
You type out a message, and the fox's babies get her message.
Then the main character wakes up from his fox dream and sees a message from his dad carved in the tree for him.
Now...
Stacy: actually, that's what I thought too but I asked the developer and what you write will be shown to another random player...meant to show that we all go through this.
Me: ..........oh. Oh! Ohh... *cries*
So apparently, if you type, 'I love you so much, I miss you,' to your kits, it'll show up on the tree for someone else
To show we never go through death alone
...
I'm gonna go lay down and cry. I'm still salty about the babies okay!!
Developer, it's an absolutely beautiful game and I love it and it's so breathtaking and wow and I know it's a dream and all but maybe show a mom fox with her three cubs at the end walking together happily?
Like the man sees a fox close to him with her cubs and she looks at him and the two share a look, and the man realizes that his dream was real, and that the first tree brought the fox's babies back or something
Or maybe just his dream was real and he knows her babies are safe and won't be killed by the wolves in the first place
And the last words would be all, 'huh. I think she saved her cubs after all.'
I dunno I'm sad okay ;-; the only comfort I get
Is gonna be if there's a sequel where the mom fox gets to bring back her babies
Or that it's all a dream
But stiiill
Ocean: why did you honestly think this was gonna be any different than shelter or abzu?
Me: *in tears* I don't know
