So there was some tree bros angst requested by @POPSHAKE SO HERE WE GO

Connor and Evan arrived at Evan's house after walking home from their date at the orchard.

"Bye Ev, see you tomorrow after school." Connor said placing a quick kiss to the smaller boy's lips before walking off.

Evan smiled, blushing and waved goodbye to Connor before he made his way inside.

~short time skip to tomorrow~

Evan walked into school and made his way to his locker feeling like he was being stared at, more so than usual that is.

When he got there he saw Jared leaning against it looking at his phone.

"Jared, what are you-?"

"So how are you and your boyfriend Connor?" He asked taking a step towards Evan.

Evan began to panic slightly, "W-wha- I-I don't know w-what your talking about."

"You can't hide any more Evan. It's all over twitter, instagram, everywhere. Anyone who has social media knows about it, and even most that don't." He said turning the phone to show a picture pulled up on twitter showing Connor kissing Evan yesterday after their date.

"who-what?" Evan fumbled over his words and saw that the profile was Jenna Roland's.

"But how did she-?" He cut himself off before he realized something, "Connor."

Evan snatched Jared's phone and went to warn Connor about what had happened and not to come when he heard the doors open.

And there Connor stood.

Everyone turned to stare at him before someone shouted.

"Hey look it's the freak who's dating Evan Hansen."

Connor looked stunned before it quickly turned into rage. He spotted Evan and stormed up to him.

"Who'd you tell?" He practically screamed.

"What? I didn't-" Connor cut Evan off.

"Don't lie to me! How else would everyone know unless you told someone and they spilled? Or maybe you just told the entire school yourself!"

"N-No it's-"

"Shut up!" Connor screamed before he punched Evan.

Hard.

Evan fell to the ground and held his cheek stunned.

He then stood up tears in his eyes, "Fine! Don't listen to me! I can't fucking believe I ever loved you!" Evan screamed as he pushed past Connor and stormed out the front doors, dropping Jared's phone.

Connor remained where he was, in the center of the crowd of students, there was silence. There were two reasons for the silence, one because everyone was still registering that the fight was over and two because Evan Hansen, had just cursed.

Connor saw the phone on the ground and picked it up to see the post that Jenna had put up.

Connor suddenly turned on his heal and made his way out the doors chasing after Evan.

'Shit. This is all my fault. Think where would Evan go? Think think think. THE ORCHARD!'

Connor hopped in his car and drove as fast as he could to the Orchard.

Once he reached the orchard he parked and ran towards the tree where he and Evan had gone on their first date.

Once he got closer he saw Evan laying on the ground. His breath hitched and he ran faster falling down at Evan's side.

"Evan? Ev, babe, can you hear me?" He tried desperatley, but no response.

He was too late.

Connor began to shake with on coming tears, before he spotted a piece of paper slightly sticking out of Evan's pocket.

Connor shakily pulled it out and read it.

Dear Connor Murphy,

Turns out this wasn't an amazing day. Why? Because everyone found out and now you hate me. I know I said I couldn't believe I fell in love with you, but truth is, I can. Because you're amazing and deserve better than me. You deserve someone that you don't have to hide your relationship with. Someone who will make you smile your beautiful smile and laugh that perfect laugh that no one has heard yet be sides me. Someone who just...isn't me.

Tell my mom that I love her. And that I would never want another mom.

Connor, you made my life wonderful, and for that I can't thank you enough. But I can't go on knowing I hurt you and that you hate me. You were the best thing that ever Happened to me Connor Murphy. Please live on for me. And remember me, since no one else, but my mom will.

I'm sorry Connor. I love you, so much.

Connor held the note to his chest and sobbed and held Evan close for the last time.

"i'm sorry Evan, I'm so so sorry."
