Melody pov.

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old, you've been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-earth stands upon the brink of destruction. No one can escape it. You will unite, or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate, this one doom" Elronf announces. He looks to Frodo. "Bring forth the Ring, Frodo." Lord Elrond continues. Frodo stands and places it on the half stone pillar in the centre. "So it is true" whispers Boromir. "In a dream, I saw the eastern sky grow dark, but in the west a pale light lingered. A voice was crying: 'your doom is near at hand. Isildur's bane is found' Isildur's bane." Continues Boromir, who has risen from his seat and attempting to grab the ring. Elrond rises quickly from his seat. "Boromir!" He shouts in warning and Gandalf begins to chant in the back speech of Mordor. Boromir sits back in his seat and Gandalf stands as well, a dark hue surrounding him and filling the air. All gathered look put off, startled perhaps and on edge, all apaet from Gandalf and I. "Never before has anyone uttered the words of that tongue here in Imladris." Lord Elrond states sternly. "I do not ask your pardon, Master Elrond, for the Black Speech of Mordor, may yet be heard In every corner of the West! The ring is altogether evil!" Gandalf Sneers the last sentence and he turns, heading back to his seat. "It is a gift. A gift to the foes of Mordor. Why not use this Ring? Long has my father the Steward of Gondor kept the forces of Mordor at bay. By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe! Give Gondor the weapon of the enemy. Let us use it against him" calls out Boromir causing Gandalf or turn around and face him. "You cannot wield it. None of us can. The One Ring answers to Sauron alone. It has no other master" says Aragorn. "And what would a Ranger know of this matter?" Says Boromir accusingly
Legolas stands and speaks. "This is no mere Ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance." Legolas states boldly. "Aragorn. This is Isildur's heir?" Questions Boromir. "And heir to the throne of Gondor." says Legolas confidently. "Havol dad, Legolas" (sit down, Legolas) says Aragorn. "Gondor has no King. Gondor needs no King" sneers Boromir and he walks back to his seat. Legolas sits down also. "Aragorn is right. We cannot use it" confirms Gandalf. Lord Elrond stands "You have only one choice. The Ring must be destroyed." he states calmly.  "What are we waiting for?" Gimli questions, confidently grabbing his axe. He swings and hits the ring square on and his axe breaks into shards, and he is sent flying backwards. His kin get up and help him to his feet. As the axe hit the ring, I visibly cringe. It's as if, my life or fate is becoming tied to it. I see Frodo clutch his head as his breath speeds up slightly. "The Ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli, son of Glóin, by any craft that we here possess. The Ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. One of you." Elrond said looking at each of us in turn. "Must do this." He continued.  Everyone sits in silence until Boromir speaks up. "One does not just simply walk into Mordor. It's Black Gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. The Great Eye is ever-watchful. It is a barren wasteland, Riddled with fire, and ash and dust. The very air you breath is a poisonous fume. Not with 10,000 men could you do this. It is folly. " Legolas stands defensively "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has just said? The Ring must be destroyed!" he yells and looks at everyone. "And I suppose you think you are the one to do it!" Exclaimed Gimli. Boromir stands "And if we fail, what then? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?" He yells angrily. Gimli is on his feet and looking straight at Legolas, "I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf!" He yells, becoming aggressive. The rest of Legolas's kin stands and so do the other dwarves bickering against each other. I watch cautiously as Legolas stretches both of his arms out and holds back other elves. "Never trust an Elf!" Yells Gimli. I see Gandalf shake his head and stand. He joins into to the fight. "Do you not understand? While you bicker Sauron's power grows! None can escape it! You'll all be destroyed!" Yells Gandalf. At this point, Frodo, Aragorn, Lord Elrond and I are the only ones still seated. I close my eyes and will the fighting to cease. Willing the ring to stop toying with them all. The fighting suddenly stops and I feel all eyes on me. I open my eyes. Elrond is also staring. I stand. "Forgive me. I wished only for the fighting to cease. It seems that my wish has been heard" I announce. They all blink for a moment. I take my seat once more. "Who will take the ring?" Elrond asks. No body says anything. I sigh. If I must I will. Then as I open my mouth, Frodo beats me to it. "I will take it" he states. I look at him. "No" I whsiper. I know he is strong, but I cannot bare to see anyone die. "Frodo, no. Allow me. I know you are strong. I know your resilience to the ring, but please. Do not endanger yourself to the fate of it" I plead, my eyes shining with unshed tears. I get the gazes of all. "Melody, what are you saying?" Elrond asks me. I sigh. "They have to know. You all have to know" I whisper.
