Chapter 14: Dinner

Devyn's POV
We got back to the house soon enough."Everyone get ready! We're going to Nandos!"Corey yells as I climb out of the car. "Sorry I have to get going I've got some editing to do." Brennen explains, he waves, gets into his truck and drives off without another word. I look at Y/N, who is talking to Kat.

"Y/N, do you wanna borrow some of my clothes?"

"No it's fine I should be going aswell." She says smiling.
"Noooooo!"Me and Kat say in unison.
"come with us!" Kat pleads
"I dunno I-" I cut her off.
"Go home, get some clothes on and we'll pick you up in an hour!" I order.
"That's final!" Kat says and points her head away from Y/N.
"Ooookay," Y/N rolls her eyes but laughs quietly .

Y/N POV
I go back to mine and unlock the door "Semmmmm!" I yell.
"Sup Bish?!" I hear coming from the front room. I walk over to her and hear mumbling.

"Who's here?" I ask as I enter the room.
"Y/N this is Jack. Jack this is Y/N," she starts " say hi"

"Hi" I smile and wave. "Hey!" He perks up.
"I'm going out later so I'm gonna be upstairs getting ready"
"Are you going out on a date with Colby?" Sem smirks and winks.
"Yes, Colby will be there but No it is not a date. And I wouldn't want it to be"
"Whyyyy not? He's cute!"
"Hey!"Jack says and puts out his bottom lip.
"Not as cute as you" Sem says and pecks his cheek.
"GET A ROOM!!!!!" I shout before running upstairs and into my room.

It doesn't take too long for me to pick my clothes, I slip on a plain black cold shoulder top and black,ripped, skinny jeans. I leave my hair down and touch up my makeup. After 40 minutes I was pretty much done so I went back downstairs,put on my black vans, grabbed my keys and was out off the door.

I arrive at the house and wonder whether to knock or just walk in. Would that be rude? But before I come out with the conclusion, the door swings open violently.

Colby stands there and stares...and keeps staring....his eyes fixated...yup still staring...okay you get the idea.

"Err... Colby. Hello." I wave my hand in front of his face twice. He blinks and shakes his head.
"Oh. Sorry. You look nice"
"Do I look terrible the rest of the time?" I tease.
"what?! No, I just meant you look good, not good. Better than good, what's a word that's better that good?"He rambles.
"I'm just teasing you." I laugh and walk past him and into the house.

"Oh...sorry" I hear him say quietly. I choose not to carry on the conversation with him because I can see him becoming more awkward.
"Soooo.... Where's everyone else?" I take a seat at the kitchen table and Colby does too. "Getting ready still" he answers. I didn't notice until now that Colby had smartened up a little, not suit and tie smart but more casual and chilled smart, he looks really good!

I smile.

We sit silently. Barely moving. Well, this is awkward!

Colby's POV
Y/N and I don't speak for what seems like an eternity. I should say something.
"W-" I'm cut off by Sam,
"Aaron's not coming, Buddy threw up so he's gonna stay home."
I nod my head and Kat also walks into the room."Heyy" she smiles widely.
I smile back."Corey and Devyn?" Y/N asks.
"RIGHT HERE!!" Corey's voice echoes through the house and he runs into the kitchen holding Devyn bridal style. "Let's go!" Sam says and heads toward the front door.

~time skip to when everyone's at the table~

Everyone took their seats;Corey sat next to Devyn, Sam next to Kat. Me next to Y/N.....

Y/Ns POV
I hesitate as I go to sit next to Colby but quickly take my place as the waitress struts over to our table.

"Oh. Triple date! That's so cuteeeee!" She squeals.
"Nope not a triple date." Devyn says shaking her head.
"Unfortunately...." Sam looks from me to Colby.
"Soz. Well then, what are you guys having to eat?"

We all order and talk whilst waiting for our food.

~Another movement in time~

We'd all finished eating and started to leave.Most of the time I'd been talking to Colby because the others were being all lovey-dovey.
"We should do this again sometime." Colby says.

"Yeah, it was fun and it was free, which is always a good thing."I laugh. Corey rolls his eyes as we all have a laugh.
"Next time it WILL be a triple date!" Sam shouts as we reach the cars.
My face turns burning red, good job it's dark.

We all got into the cars and headed home. It took thirty minutes to get back to their place and Colby had gone with Sam and Kat. So it wasn't too awkward...

"Hey, y'all wanna watch a movie when we get back?"Corey asks looking through the review mirror and Devyn and me.
"Sure," i respond, Devyn nods in agreement and then carries on telling me about this place that she wants to go to get her nails done. I occasionally nod or give an"oh really." Or "that sounds really nice." But I wasn't listening,I was too busy thinking about Colby. What if next time it is a triple date? Would I like that? Would HE like that? I'm so confused!!! Why is life so complicated?! My brain hurts!!!!!
