Who knew I would be walking out of Starbucks with one of the most famous people on Earth?
(30 Minutes Before)
“Excuse me,” the boy in front of me said, “Do you mind if I ask something?”
“Sure, go ahead,” I responded.
“What should I order?”
“Well, I guess it depends on what you’re craving.”
“Oh, I usually just get the same thing every time.”
“I do that a lot,” I said.
“Do you mind me asking what you’re ordering?”
“A caramel frappuccino with extra whip crème and a slice of the classic coffee cake,” I told him. This was what I usually ordered because it was what I was always craving.
“That sounds good. I think I’ll get the same thing.” He smiled.
I smiled back, unsure of what to say. Yes, he did look a LOT like Liam from One Direction. I was a fan of them.
Slowly the line grew shorter and I was able to order. I waited for a minute, getting a couple of napkins, and then my order was called, ready to be picked up.
I decided to eat inside the shop so I picked an empty table in the corner window and began eating. Maybe I would go to a couple shops downtown later to look for a dress for that party my mom was throwing for my sister’s birthday…
“Mind if I sit with you?”
I looked into the same brown eyes as a few minutes ago and shook my head. He was super cute, his brown hair was swept to one side and his face had a slight trace of stubble.
He sat down and began eating, too. He did end up getting the same order as me which made me smile to myself.
“So what’s your name?” I asked.
“Liam.”
My stomach flipped into my mouth, but I quickly gained mental composure.
“Payne?”
He nodded and braced himself. I guessed he expected me to fan girl or something, but I wouldn’t. I didn’t want to come off as annoying so I smiled and sipped my drink.
“I have not had someone not flip out on me in a while. What’s your name?”
“Katie.”
“Are you from here?”
“Born and raised.”
“I like your accent.”
“I like yours, too.” I laughed.
“Thanks.”
“So what are you doing in Georgia?”
“We were working on some media stuff and we’re probably going to do a small show in this area soon.”
I finished the rest of my cake before asking, “So all the boys are here?”
He nodded, checking his phone.
“Do you have to go somewhere?”
Oh God, Katie. Don’t intrude. But do get his autograph…
“Not really, I have all day off. We just flew in yesterday.”
“It must be crazy being in one place then another the next day.”
“It is. It’s tiring, too. But the experience is amazing, especially the performing part.”
“I remember I used to dream of being famous when I was little.”
“Don’t we all?” He said. There was a pause before he spoke again, “I’ll get your trash if you’re finished.”
“Thank you,” I said, handing him my cup and bag.
I picked up my purse and Liam walked back over to me.
“So? Where to now?”
I gave him a confused look.
“Oh! Unless you have other plans…I was thinking maybe you-I…..we could hang out.”
“Me? Having plans? Nah, I’m free.”
Oh God, Katie. Don’t make it seem like you have no life…
“Great! Where to first?”
“How about I go to the bathroom first?”
“Sure, no problem.”
I went into the bathroom to let this sink in my head for a minute. I felt light-headed and dizzy for a moment while thinking. Liam Payne just invited me to spend the day with him…is this real? Oh. My. Gosh. Holy….
I glanced at myself in the mirror to make sure I looked alright although I had no other options but to go looking the way I already did. My hair was fine; waved and hanging loose below my shoulders. My outfit was decent, dark skinny blue jeans and a ruffled light pink blouse with grey Vans. My face was a whole other story; it was early so I just barely applied some mascara and eyeliner. Liam will just have to get over it. Whoa! What am I thinking? This is Liam Payne, he will not just ‘get over it.’
I opened up my purse and searched its contents for some foundation. C’mon….where is it; I know I have some-aha! I quickly evened out the makeup and became content with my appearance. While I was at it, I might as well use the restroom.
“Ready?” I asked, checking my phone. It was 8:30 in the morning.
Liam stood near the door, “Yep.”
“You sure management will be okay with you and a random person in an unfamiliar place?”
Shut up, Katie. You’re giving him more reason not to spend the day with you.
“They’ll get over it.”
I gave a small laugh, “Alrighty, then.”
We exited the Starbucks and became a part of the “crowd.” Surprisingly, it wasn’t too busy…yet. It was only 8:30 in the morning and would get busy towards lunchtime.
Would people recognize Liam like I did? I hoped not because then they would ruin the best day of my life.

So this is my first story and I decided to do a fanfiction. I have no idea how long it will be, but I'm sure I will be able to update often because my summer holiday is coming up in a week or two.
Please let me know what you think!
