The Duchy of Bourdon is the oldest of the independent states in the lands of Arkn Kiilpn. Bourdon served as the royal city during the time of the High Kingdom, after it unified the continent in an alliance with the other city states; Port Shinoda, Fort Delson, Heavy Harbor, Wakefield, and Handhigh Holdfast.
Bourdon is a medium sized city on the sea, abutted by mountains to the north and south and woodlands to the east. The Duchy is known for its craftsmen and historically it provided the Engineering Corps to the Kingdom army in time of war or rebellion. Duke Robert himself is a skilled engineer and serves as both the head of the Bourdon infantry and engineers during wartime.
Aside from technology and advisors, the main export of Bourdon are rifles. They were the first military force in history to integrate riflemen, a fact that proved advantageous in several engagements against raiders and against the norther nomads seeking to reclaim their ancient homelands in the south.
Bourdon enjoys a close political relationship with Wakefield and Port Shinoda thanks to several military alliances in recent years as the Empire of the Wastelands has begun probing attacks on the Wall.
