Mydas Ember has the title of tallest peak and most active volcano in the lands of Arkn Kiilpn. In legend, it is the home of one of the two primordial gods, Rockus. Rockus is the Lord of Fire and Stone, and is symbolized by gold, which he supposedly spread across the lands in ages past with fiery explosions from the heights of Mydas Ember.
The mountain casts its shadow over the Forest of the Burning Skies, which has earned its name as travelers and explorers witness the volcanic eruptions, visible even through the dense canopy. The forest itself exhibits a strange phenomenon in that the trees themselves appear more or less immune to the ash and flaming debris flung from the mountain. Exposure to fire in all but the most dire cases is blunted by the trees themselves, providing shelter to those who would travel to the shrines and explore the ruins near the base of the volcano.
