JOE POV
The loud sound of someone knocking on the front door made me wake up with a fright.
'Caspar, the door!' I shouted at the top of my voice.
'I'm having a poo!' He shouted back from the direction of his bathroom.
'It's going to be Maddy, Caspar! I need you to answer it!'
'Fine but you owe me!' He shouted before I heard the toilet flush and him running up the stairs.
I felt exhausted, it had been such a shitty night of tossing and turning, begging myself to just stop thinking. Beth had been out at some modelling party, she'd invited me but I politely declined, and her drunkenness caused her to ring me multiple times and send me so many videos. After declining her call for the 16th time, I turned my phone off, causing my alarm not to go off and this situation where Maddy was here and I wasn't even the slightest bit ready.
'Shit.' I whispered, jumping out of bed and running around my room frantically trying to brush my teeth and get dressed and do my hair and make myself look somewhat presentable, all at the same time.
I sprayed way more cologne than I'd usually put on, making myself sneeze and cough a little bit before looking in the mirror to finish off my hair.
'Get yourself together Joe.' I said to myself, slapping my face lightly.
I left my room and began my journey up the stairs.
'Good morning.' I yawned, trying to ignore the nervousness inside me.
'Sorry to wake you.' I heard Maddy say but I was too busy looking beyond her as Caspar was mouthing that he was going back to the bathroom to finish.
'That's alright.' I said to Maddy.
I poured us each a glass of chocolate milk before joining her at the breakfast bar. The atmosphere was nice, we were both clearly in a good mood and getting along well.
The interview was going well, it had been about an hour and a half since she began asking me questions and constructing a day of the life article. Most of the questions were just the normal, 'how has YouTube affected your life', 'how does it feel to be so famous' and 'do you think you will do it forever', type questions that pretty much every journalist is summoned to ask.
Maddy took a deep breath after we finished laughing about one of my answers.
'Please remember you can pass, it's completely fine but I've got some more..personal questions on my list.' She said nervously. She explained to me that the questions were a mixture of ones her boss had given her and some fans wanted to be answered, she had little input.
'Okay, no worries just go for it and if it's too bad I'll pass.'
'Okay.. Do you see yourself and um do you want to have children?' She nervously said. I laughed internally, this was one I got all the time.
'I mean, of course, I would like to have children someday but definitely not yet. I think right now I'm really focused on my career and trying to make my YouTube as good as possible. I don't know, you've got to live first haven't ya? I'm still young and don't really want to grow up yet. Plus, before I have kids I've got to find someone who, you know, actually likes me.' I laughed, Maddy gave a nervous giggle.
'I'm sure that's not too hard for somebody like you.' She blushed, slightly.
'Somebody like me?' I raised my eyebrow.
'Famous, hilarous, good looking..' She shrugged.
'Wow, I am flattered.' I laughed, just enjoying getting along with such a good vibe.
