Two Goodbyes

"What the hell do you mean I can't return to the coven now?"I hissed. "There's no barrier preventing-"

"You're not a vampire and you're no human," Basset's voice sounded a little ways from me. Colors were starting to appear and blurs of shapes. She sounded choked up, "We would need the queen and we can't do that without your blood- your vampire blood."

Someone clucked their tongue and gave a sigh, "You all need to learn to stop relying on my dear Lilith, I can extract her blood so it can be used to wake the queen." It was Circe, she seemed highly annoyed at this apparent solution. "I just wish I had known I could have purified your blood before you went to fetch this dragon." Based on the blur of color it looked as if she were pointing toward a blob leaning against a rock. The obnoxious snores emitting from the shape signaled he was slumbering.

"Ah well, I guess, I'll know for future references to always ask specifics for supernatural races," she seemed to shrug, and finally my vision sharpened and focused, my sense of smell became clear and I saw Circe differently. Her hair was white and her skin was a darker tan than Nemesio's, and though her eyes were also slanted, they had a bit of a more roundness to them, they were a bright, unnatural green. She was lithe, like him. There was no sign of aging past thirty on her. But what was truly odd, was that I knew at first she had appeared taller, but now she seemed shorted, around my height, in fact, only five foot.

"Your eyes are brighter now," Circe smiled knowingly, "I can fix up her blood so you all can transfer it, the same with the other dragon," she turned and faced the others, Basset's curly hair was seen above her, and Crescent's hands playing with it gently. Nemesio was still holding me, though and his grip tightened as if he could know what was to come. Kai was slumped across a rock, and the dripping from the water on the stalagmites and stalactites seemed to get louder. The rocks rumbled a bit. I could see Circe's formations. "The two dragons are staying with me though."

"No," Nemesio snarled, "I'm not leaving her again, never again." His long black hair was held back in a ponytail and his bright red eyes darkened, his pupils contracting, and his fangs poked out. He stood rigid, like stone, cold. His tone was livid.

"You can't protect her anymore," Circe chuckled, "Not from your mother, it's high time you realize everything was put into motion too early anyways. And besides, if she dies, so does your claim to the new world."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll let her spell it out to you dear, as I lead the others to upper world, Fossil will come get you after he takes back the male dragon to my house." To Nemesio this probably seemed very cold, but Circe was only helping in the way that would cause the least amount of carnage.

I brought my hand to his face and caressed him, his skin was smooth and felt frozen, I pressed my lips to his cheek, a tear brought itself to my eye, but I blinked it away and whispered, "Put me down, Nemesio." He did so gently, and I took his hand to lead him away from the tunnels as the others started to walk away.

"Onyx, tell me what is going on?" he pleaded, his voice cracked. I kissed him trying to convince him that all would be okay, to convince myself that this was for the best.

"Nemesio, my love,"I started, and backed away, just a bit, but holding his hand and squeezing it. "My love, it's really good news in a way. We are going to be so happy soon ,and things will be different, and I know we're so close right now, but-"

"Just tell me, Nyx." his eyes were shut and he looked down as he brought me in closer to him, holding me tightly, until he felt it. He heard it. The change, how my blood flow was different." His eyes widened at the realization, he was in shock. "We-You're-"

I nodded and tried to move away but he wouldn't let go. "I'm pregnant. . . with twins."

Well, I hope you all like what's happening so far, and I know this is probably not where you were expecting part 1 to end, but this is nowhere near the end of the vampires for this book, there will probably be about four parts at least in this book. You can't really have Onyx continue on with the vampire story anyways when she's no longer one of them. And no, she is not a were, there are weredragons, just like there are nymph dragons and mer dragons, they will be dealt with in more detail in the second book though, so don't fret.
