When Dragons Deal

Kai's smirk made me angry, he was treating me like I was almost beneath him. He eyed me sideways and started to tap his fingers on his desk in an odd rhythm. He was waiting for me to be in shock at his knowledge, but I wasn't. I breathed in deeply to try and reign in my frustration. "So give me your blood. . ."

"What will you give me in return? Perhaps the head of your mate? Or maybe the head of the queen herself and take the vampires out of the race world domination?" His eyes flashed me a challenge and I snarled, black smoke emitting from my skin.

"Careful, you wouldn't be able take me on," my fangs were elongating.

"Would you be willing to give me that then?" He grinned. "Give me a challenge, if you win, you can gain my blood and help later on. I will be in your service, and if I win, I own you and that growing parasite you've managed to hide from everyone."

That caught me by surprise, "And if I refuse?"

"I will actually turn you into an experiment for my own devices," he was growing in size and his skin was growing scales while turning golden, his eyes were turning into a bright green and his hair seemed to flow across his elongating body. His snout resembled a lion's but slightly longer with one whisker drooping down on each side of his nose. His underbelly scales grew and turned to the color of burnt charcoal, his legs and arms bent and grew claws. He roared loudly and the building cracked as he filled the room and started to break it. 

The ceiling started to collapse and I let all of the darkness in the room collect around me. The shift was painless. My black scales grew and covered my skin, my eyes grew slits and my snout grew narrow and hooked, triangular in shape. My neck grew long and narrow meeting my slender body. My shoulders grew leathery wings, red for the blood that I consumed. Horns and spikes erupted from my full form. Three small poisonous cheek spikes, two pointed back horn on the side of my head. Small spikes on my widened nostrils and a bigger one between them that began the trail down my back with my barbed tail. 

I was only about three hundred feet and Kai's body looked much longer than mine. He was a big dragon and I was considered a small one. By now people were screaming as everything was crashing down. Their energy powered cars and ships began to crash as, what I assumed to be the headquarters, collapsed from both Kai's and my own transformation. The night sky still showed itself, revealing stars that glistened like snow hit by sunlight.

"Will you back down?"He roared and his body curled around the rubble. Many of the creatures who found themselves freed and alive ran and chased after the humans, eating and tearing them apart. 

I chuckled to myself, "You're laughable! You think your size will scare my off!" I began to lift my wings, feeling the wind and freedom that hadn't been tasted in lifetimes. I roared, screeching and demanding bodies to begin flinging themselves at the wyrm. The humans under my control began to climb on him and tear into the in between spots of his scales, they wouldn't do much but annoy him for now, but I needed time to create distance between us. "You're going to regret making this deal with me Kai! I use blood magic and poison."

He flailed them off with little difficulty but I had disappeared into the clouds, "How delightful," he started his take off, twisting his body toward the sky, no wings needed. Light erupted from his mouth and cleared away the clouds, my hear pounded in my chest, and I shot back the liquid red poison, its fumes emitting in every direction.  At first, he would feel nothing but as the battle goes on he will start to tire and lose consciousness as pain spreads through every fiber and muscle. I just had to make this last long enough for the effects to make themselves known.

He started to curl around my breath in effort to dodge it but still gain ground, this was good. The poison would seep into his scales and spread faster, just as had about reached me with his claws outstretched I dove down. Kai roared in anger, he was bigger, not faster. 

The many humans being slaughtered looked up in horror and awe at our display. I headed for the few that seemed hypnotized by the display and gulped them down. More screams found themselves sounding off in the air. They were like insects being cleared out of a hive.

Lightning began to flash around everywhere as Kai seemed to summon it, bringing the dangerous molecules closer. I swirled the shadows and clouds around us, intertwining us both. A storm was brewing, all that was missing the rain and thunder, though one might think our roars easily replaced the booms in a storm.

Sizzling electricity was entering the shadow, I could smell it. It surrounded him, just as I was cloaking myself. The growls and snarls heard from us made everyone weary. Finally, I attacked, biting into his neck, directly behind his head. A crunch brought his attention upwards to my direction, but it was too late, his blood had been spilled and he screeched in anger and fury.

The scales twisted underneath as he began to move towards my body and snapped at my barbed tail, only for me to whack him in the face. It didn't cut him, but it did annoy him. My body started to hook itself onto the rest of the length of his long body. The fur only irritating my jagged belly scales. My claws dug deep into the nooks of his scales, finding soft skin underneath. I had thrown his balance off and he was trying to get his stretched body to curl around me like a snakes, but in doing so, we had begun to fall. He could not muster enough magic to keep me and himself up. The poison had finally kicked in, and I was going to smash his face into the rubble down below.

Just before we crashed I felt the burning and stinging sensation of light seeping into my claws. I was surprised and bit down harder refusing to let go. Lightning struck us both. All I felt was fire. Burning fire, as it began to consume me and I saw the golden dragon's face smash into the earth.

It means I will most likely be able to put out the more updated version of the next chapter out sooner which is awesome!
