There was a loud knock on the stall door.
"You guys coming out?" Matt called.
"Uh, yeah." I said, quietly. I didn't want this moment with Noah to end. But it had to. I was already letting him in way too far, and I told myself that I originally wasn't going to let him in at all.
I pushed past Noah and went to the door. I slid it open, and saw Matt standing there with his arms crossed.
"Finally." He smirked. But it wasn't a devil smirk like Noah. It was more if a cutesy fun smirk. It wasn't meant to offend, unlike Noah.
"Sorry. We were squished and it was hard to-" Noah cut me off.
"I have been in one of those stalls with five people in it. It isn't squished until you get to four." He had a knowing loom in his eye, and for some reason I didn't like what he was inferring.
"Noah and I weren't doing anything." I stated.
Matt smiled and rolled his eyes in a playful manner. Everything about him seemed playful. I wonder why he wasn't popular. He is easy to talk to, and he is funny. Maybe he did something to have him blacklisted.
Noah came out of the stall, and I heard him groan. I turned to face him, and saw what he was groaning about.
He was holding the hem of his shirt out infront of him. From his chest all the way down to his belly button, his shirt was torn. Lucky for me, I could see his abs. And oh, did they look good. Noah cleared his throat, and I looked up.
He was smirking at me. And it wasn't playful like Matt's. It held some sort of fire, but in the same sense it was cool.
"Like what you see?"
Okay Maddie, calm down. Play it off.
I shrugged, and made a little 'huh' sound.
"I've seen better." I shrugged. Yes Maddie, play it cool.
Noah didn't seem deterred by that. It actually seemed to make him determined.
"Really? Give me a few tips and I can be the best." He popped his eyebrows up once at the end, and then they fell back down to shield those blue eyes.
I gasped a little, taken off gaurd by his sudden flirting.
It was quiet for a moment. It was starting to get awkward.
"What are you gonna do about your shirt?" I asked him. Matt was infront of the mirrors, checking himself out. Vain much?
"I'm going to take it off. I don't want to look like I can't afford a new shirt." Noah rolled his eyes at me, as if this were an obvious fact.
"You can't take your shirt off in school, you'll-"
"Start a riot?" Noah cut off my sentence, smirking again at the end of his.
"Dude, the only guy hot enough to start a riot here is me." Matt said as he fixed his beanie in the mirrors. Noah rolled his eyes.
"What are you going to put on instead?" I asked, looking back at Noah.
"I have my leather jacket in my locker." He said as if it were obvious. "Wait, I have always wanted to do this." He smiled mischeviously. He put both his hands on each side of the rip, then pulled sideways. He yelled, acting like he was the Hulk. Once his shirt was now fully torn in half, he stopped yelling. He looked back to me, grinning.
"That was sweet." He laughed. I couldn't surpress my giggles, and I let them out.
"You are one weird kid." I heard Matt say. I looked over at him, and his face was priceless. I turned back to Noah, then started to blush. He was staring, and it wasn't at my face.
"Noah." I said his name sharply, breaking his stare.
"What?" He asked, completely confused.
"Stop staring." I stage whispered.
"What if I like what I see." He asked, folding his arms over his chest. That brought my eyes to his muscles. I think he planned that, seeing as he was now smirking.
"That's gross. You're my brother, remember?" I shot back. Oh, hit him where it hurts Maddie.
"Can you go get your jacket now? If another guy walks in, it is going to get really awkward. And class is finishing up, so go before the hallway is packed." Matt walked over to us, giving us his advice.
"Okay. You coming Maddie? It's on our way to Mrs. Snider's." He started walking toward the exit.
"You are in my home room too?" I was surprised. Why had I never noticed him?
"Yep. The things you don't know surprise me." He said over his shoulder. I quickly went to follow him, but Matt grabbed my arm.
"Be careful around him. There is something not 100% right with that guy. I don't know why, but he makes me think..." Matt trailed off as he looked into my eyes. "You like him don't you?" How had he known?
I guess my face was obvious to read, he answered my unspoken question.
"When I said his name, your eyes lit up and you got a small smile. And yes, your face is easy to read." He smiled. "Just be careful around him, okay? I have heard of some of the stuff he has done. He isn't as innocent as you think."
"I don't think of him as innocent." I think I surprised Matt with that one.
"So you are going after a 'bad boy'?" He raised his eyebrows at me.
I started to walk away, and looked back over my shoulder.
"Maybe."
