Chapter Seven

“How do you know Seth has a brother?”

“More like why did you not tell me? You never tell me anything anymore.”

“Abbie, im being serious. How did you find out Seth has a brother?” I asked.

“Jeeze, he added me on Facebook and I seen his last name. When I looked through his Photos he had Seth in some, but the pictures were ancient.” Now Ross was adding my best friend. What the hell is he up to?

“Abbie, Delete him now!” I hated being serious with Abbie but now was a serious moment.

“Why? Its Seth’s brother and you have him.”

“Oh My God, please Abbie just delete him.” I heard some keys getting tapped on the other end of the line.

“Done.” She said in an annoyed tone.

“Okay thanks Abbie.” I was about to hang up but she stopped me,

“You owe me an explanation for whatever that was all about.”

“I need to come get my car for school tomorrow, ill walk over now and ill explain.” I didn’t want to explain things to Abbie but I did need me car and I couldn’t get my car away without her noticing.

I walked across to where I left my converse and pulled them on grabbing my cardigan as well. I headed down the stairs and to the kitchen. I opened the pen drawer to grab a pen and an envelope and wrote my mum a note, in case she was back before me.

Mum,

Im away to Abbies to get my car for school tomorrow. I should be back very soon. Just wanted to let you know in case you were back before me. A.

I left the note on the kitchen table where my mum would notice it. I left the house and started to walk to Abbies.

When I got on Abbie’s street I notice a boy I knew from school. He was in my Art and English class. His name is Joe Knowing. He is a really popular guy and he is so full of himself. He used to play rugby with Seth before Seth quit. I gave him a friendly smile and he gave me a wink back. I kept walking to Abbies but then I heard Joe cross over the road.

“Hey, Alice.” He said. This is the first time he as actually talked to me.

“Um, Hi Joe.” He smiled and stopped walking making me mirror him.

“Where are you going?” he asked me. I pointed at Abbie’s door. And he smiled, “You seem to always be there.”

“Well it is basically my second home, so yeah. Where are you going?” he laughed and said,

“Im going to meet my mum, she’s at my Gran’s and she’s giving me a lift to my mates.” I nodded and looked towards Abbie’s house.

“Well… ill let you get to Abbie’s.” How did Joe know Abbie? I made a mental note to ask Abbie.

“Ill let you get to your Gran’s.” I started to turn my body but Joe touched my elbow.

“Hey, Alice. Do you want to maybe go to the cinema sometime?” I started at him and laughed.

“What’s funny about that?” he asked giving me a shy smile.

“Emm nothing, im flattered. I really am but Joe Im going out with Seth.” He went bright red.

“Oh im so sorry, I knew that I just completely forgot. Sorry again.” He turned away with his head down and I heard him curse under his breath.

“Joe.” I shouted after him. He turned round and pulled his head up.

“Yea?”

“We can go as friends if you’d like?” he smiled and nodded. I smiled back at him.

“Yea that would be good, ill talk to you tomorrow to arrange it.”

I nodded and turned away.

When I walked into Abbies I was still smiling. Joe actually just asked me out, I wasn’t into him or anything. I just thought that I wouldn’t be his type.

When I was in Abbies room I told her all that just happened with Joe and she couldn’t get the smile off her face.

“Wait, so he just asked you?” she said with a giggle.

“Yea but I said as friends.” Abbie smiled and nodded her head.

Abbie must have been painting her nails as the smell was still lingering around the room. I looked at her nails, nope. I looked at her toes and yep. She had painted them all different colours.

“So…” Abbie started, “What’s with the other Taylor?”

I put an elbow on my knee and rested my chin onto the palm of my hand. Here goes.

“He’s Seth’s older brother, who has casually just strolled into town for no apparent reason. He told Seth he’d be leaving in about two weeks because he has ‘stuff he has to do’.”

“What stuff?” Abbie asked curiously.

“God knows, but he needs to back of me and Seth or im going to freak out!”

“What is he doing?” Abbie leaned in closer.

“Well the morning after I stayed at Seth’s he came in the house using the hidden key!”

“He sounds like a right idiot.” I nodded.

“He is.”

After a brief conversation about school I left. I headed towards my car to find a note tucked behind my window wiper.

Sorry sexy, Im gonna be here a little longer than I hoped. ;)

My blood started to boil as I scrunched the piece of paper into a ball and threw it to the ground. I sat in my car and held in a scream. I drove home with my music blaring to try and get the rag away but nothing seemed to budge my anger.
