Chapter Eight
I woke up to my alarm, I grabbed my phone from my bedside table and stopped my alarm. 6:45. I hate getting up early for school especially Mondays, Mondays are always terrible. I put my phone back on my table and dragged my body out of bed. I could feel the cold air around me as soon as I got up. I headed towards my wardrobe and lay what I was going to wear on my bed. My skater skirt, white shirt and school blazer.
I grabbed my towels from my chair beside the window and headed for the bathroom. I always loved a morning shower, it always woke me up. Once I got out the shower I could hear my mum singing in the kitchen. I laughed to myself as she was a horrific singer.
I quickly put my clothes on making sure my hair wasn’t dripping. Once I was dressed I pulled my wet hair into a bobble and headed for the kitchen.
“Morning, Mum.” I said walking through the open door.
“Morning, Hun.” I could smell mums Monday morning pancakes so I sat down and watched her make the final batch before bringing them to the table where I was sitting.
“These smell amazing.”
After my delicious pancakes I headed back to my room to get ready. I dried and curled it. I put some of mascara on and a little lip balm. Just as I finished with my make-up, my phone started to ring. I quickly ran over to receive it and found my boyfriends voice on the other end of the line.
“Hey Ali.” His sweet voice entered my ears.
“Hey Seth.”
“You want me to come pick you up today?”
“I got my car last night from Abbies but if you want to, yea.”
“I’ll come get you at 8:00? Is that okay?” I checked my watch, 7:20.
“Yea, that’d be brilliant. Thanks.”
“Anything for you, Hun.” That made me smile.
I was getting my bag ready when mum called me down stairs. I pulled on my converse and grabbed my bag and jacket. My mum was waiting at the bottom of the stairs.
“Are you taking your car today?” she asked.
“Em, no Seth’s picking me up today. Are you needing it?”
“No, I was just wondering.” I jumped off the last step with a small thud.
“When is he coming for you?” As if on cue, Seth’s car entered the drive way.
“Right now.” I laughed. We watched him get out and walk to the door. I opened it before he could ring the bell.
“Hello.” He said. I stepped aside to let him past and he walked in.
“You do know you don’t need to knock every time you come here.”
“Well its more polite if I do.” He looked over to my mum and said, “Hi Laura.” My mum stepped towards him and gave him a hug.
“Hello, dear. I haven’t seen you in a long time.”
“Well you know me, busy, busy.” My mum gave a slight chuckle.
“Yes, well you two better be off to school.” I nodded along with Seth.
“Yea, see you after school mum.” I grabbed Seth’s hand and headed out the door.
When I got in Seth’s car I could smell McDonalds.
“Did you get a McDonalds breakfast this morning?” He gave me a little smirk.
“How did you know?”
“Your car stinks like McDonalds.” He laughed.
School wasn’t far away so the journey wasn’t long. When we got out the car Seth grabbed my waist and pulled me close.
“You know, I didn’t get a kiss this morning.” Seth said into my hair.
“I know, me either.” I said smiling back. He pulled his head away from my hair and looked at me with his amazingly blue eyes.
“What?” I asked.
“Im not going to get a kiss am I?” he smirked.
“Well if you need one…”
“Oh god yes, I do!” he leaned in and just as he was millimetres away from my lips, I laughed and pulled back.
“People are watching.”
“Let them.” I grabbed his hands from my back and held them in between us.
“We can kiss later!” I told him. He dropped his head while muttering fine.
We walked to the school gates hand in hand and I seen Abbie talking to Joe. I suddenly remembered mine and Joe’s short conversation outside Abbies house and then I realized I didn’t tell Seth.
“Hey guess what happened last night!” I said.
“What happened last night?”
“Do you remember Joe Knowing for your rugby team?” I seen him ticking though his mind trying to think.
“Oh yea, what about him?”
“When I was walking to Abbies to get my car last night, he asked me out to the cinema.” I laughed to myself.
“Really, what did you say?” I could just see his jaw tighten.
“Well I reminded him that we were together and he went all shy, but I told his that we could go as friends.” He seemed to relax.
“Cool, so when are you two going?”
“Em, I don’t know. We said were going to arrange it today.” I started moving towards where Abbie and Joe were located.
