Chapter nine

As Seth and I approached Abbie and Joe, they stopped talking to greet us.

“Hey, Guys!” Abbie said cheerfully.

“Hey.” Me and Seth said together. I saw Joe look away, he looked nervous. So I said, “How are you, Joe?”

“Oh, emm yeah, im fine. How about yourself?”

“Good…” I trailed off, not knowing what to say. I squeezed Seth’s hand and gave him a side glance. But I wish I didn’t as he started to snigger a little because he obviously felt the tension.

After a few minutes I could have died of awkwardness. Thank god for Abbie as she stole the tension from the air.

“So, Joe. Alice told me that you and Alice were going to the cinema sometime. Any chance I could come, I love the cinemas?”

“Me too!” Seth chipped in. I gave both of them a quick death glare but I didn’t really mean it.

“Yea , that’d be fine. We were going to discuss that today weren’t we, Alice?” Joe looked at me and I could see right through him. He was so nervous and I honestly thought I saw him shaking. Why was he this anxious?

“Yup, so, when should we all go? What should we see?”

We talked about the cinema details for a few minutes before one of Joe’s friends from the rugby team came over and asked him for something. Soon after the bell went and Seth walked me to class.

Just as we were close to my classroom door I pulled Seth around so we were facing each other.

“Why didn’t you help me with that?” I asked him. He looked smug as he gave me a big smirk.

“Help you with what, babe?” He was playing the fool. Letting go of his hand I had been holding all morning I gestured towards the front doors.

“That big bundle of awkwardness with Joe out there.” I said, but then added, “And don’t call me babe. You know I hate that.”

“Come on,” He said grabbing both of my hands. “It was pretty funny, you have to admit!” he let out a little chuckle. I kept a straight face showing him I wasn’t finding this funny.

“Oh come on Ali, don’t be like that.” He said letting go of one of my hands to cup my cheek.

“Fine, but you will pay for that!” I gave him my serious look, which made him laugh. I slapped his arm, not hard, but just enough for him to realise I wanted him to stop laughing. Not taking my hint, he continued to laugh. not being able to resist I gave a small laugh too.

“Okay, okay. That’s enough I need to get to class.” I said stepping back a little.

“Oh, fine.” He said and let me leave, but not before giving me a short hug.

After last period Seth came to pick me up from class.

“Your still not in my good books, Mr.” I said starting to walk beside him.

“I know how to get into your good books don’t you worry about a thing.” He turned to face me and gave me a wink.

“Really? Are you sure?” I asked.

“Im positive!” he said excited. He grabbed my hand, leant in and kissed my cheek.

“That done nothing, just to let you know.” I said smirking.

“I said don’t worry, that wasn’t even it. just wait and see.”

“You’ve got me very curious Mr. Taylor.”

“Is that so Miss Hartley?” I nodded.

We got to my house and we headed inside. I grabbed the mail from behind the door and went to put it on the kitchen table. Seth was looking over my shoulder trying to read my mail when I hit him.

“Aww, what was that for?”

“Fun.” I said and turned my back on him to walk further into the kitchen. I heard him running up behind me so I started sprinting towards the table.

I was on one side and he was on the other.

“Im gonna get you, so you should just give up.”

“I will never give up!” I shouted. He started running around the table but I ran the other way and to the hall.

“You will never catch m-.” He caught me. Just as I was about to run up the stairs he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me to him.

“Ill always catch you.” He said kissing my neck. I smiled to myself and let him sway me side to side. I pulled his hands away from me and said,

“Let me change out of my shirt.” He gave me a nod and watched me walk up the stairs.

I changed into my green Hollister t-shirt and kept my skirt on. I went downstairs to find Seth on my couch.

“You ready to go?” I asked him.

“Yup, sure.” He stood up and we walked out to the car, again holding hands.

We got to his house in no time. When we went in and I remembered I forgot to write mum a note, she’d be coming back from work soon and she would be wondering where I was. I got my phone out my bag and gave her a quick text.

“Have you got homework?” Seth asked.

“No, how about you?”

“A little math, but ill do it later.” We were in his room now and he went and sat on the bed. I sat beside him, dumping my bag on the floor.

“So what have you got planed?” I said looking at Seth. He gave me a funny look as if to say what-the-heck-are-you-on-about.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean to get in my good books.” I seen him smirk. He stood up and walked out of his room. I listened carefully wondering what he was doing. I heard the front door lock and for some reason I smiled to myself. What was he up to?

Seth came back through with the biggest grin on his face and he closed the door behind him.

“Why did you have to lock the door? Are you going to kill me?” I said with a straight face, trying my hardest not to laugh. But I broke when I heard Seth laughing.

“Well I will kill you if im not in your good books by the end of tonight.”

“Oh will you?” Seth nodded coming closer to me. When he was right in front of me he gently lifted my elbows to make me stand up beside him. Since I stood up we were extremely close. His face was blank as he looked into my eyes. I stared happily into his sky blue eyes. Then his gaze fell to my lips, I started to bit my lower lip. He looked back to my eyes and smiled.

“You know I will need to steal that kiss right about now.” He said putting one hand around my back and the other cupping my cheek. I leant into his hand closing my eyes with a smile. I could feel his warm breath creeping closer and closer. I opened my eyes to see he had his eyes shut.

“You don’t have to steal anything from me.” I lifted my arms so they were around his neck pulling his lips to mine. Our lips met and it was bliss. The way our lips moved with each others was amazing. We had such a strong connection between us, I think id find it hard to stop. We pulled apart to catch our breath but only for a second before we were together again.

Both of Seth’s hands were on my back now and I could feel him turning me around. When he stopped he crouched down so he was sitting on the edge of his bed. He put one hand on my stomach and made me sit down on his knee. He stopped kissing me and looked right into my eyes.

“Am I getting closer?” he was teasing me I could tell. I stood up and the crawled to the middle of his bed, my eyes always on him.

“Come here and find out.” Did I just say that? Wow. I think I’ve took some crazy girl pills. Seth chuckled and came close.
