Chapter 17: Severance

The fights in the arena continue, Ruby has left the stadium and the entry ways have been sealed. The Fox Faunus from team Z3RO and the ice archer from team DMNG are locked in fierce combat, with neither speaking a word until Gwenn lets out a cry of pain after being pierced in side by Rouges whip.

[Rouge] "awww, are you out of aura? Good."
[Gwenn] "what is with your weird obsession with me!?"
[Rouge] "heh. Hehe. Hehehahahaha! You really don't remember me?"
[Gwenn] "w-what?"
[Rouge] "*Sigh* of course you don't. I suppose you had other things on your mind."
[Gwenn] "what are you talking about!?"
[Rouge] "I'm talking about leaving us to die you snow fox brat!"

Gwenns eyes widen in shock.

[Gwenn] "how-how did you-?"
[Rouge] "think about it when your dead."

Rouge raises her weapon, now its sword form, above her head and moves to slash down at the injured girl, only to dodge backwards as a shield comes sailing past, followed by a heavy fist slamming into the flat of Rouges defending blade, pushing her back slightly.

[Gwenn] "M-Mirror?!"
[Mirror] "get up. You think You'll get Dans attention by playing the damsel all the time?"

Mirrors words light an angered spark in Gwenns mind as her face becomes visibly red from embarrassment, anger and exhaustion.

[Gwenn] "you-!... you're right."
[Mirror] "hm? Can I get you to say that again when this is over? To a camera?"
[Gwenn] "don't push it."

Getting to her feet and transforming her weapon into a pair of kusarigama connected by a strong, white wire, she looks over to her red headed opponent.

[Gwenn] "I'm not going to let this psycho beat me."
[Mirror] "Atta girl!"
[Gwenn] "shut it."
[Mirror] "ehe~"

Dan, Nul and 3 continue their bout with Nul sending a maelstrom of fiery fists in the armoured boys direction, each one being expertly dodged until Nul teleports away to reveal a charging Dan, his war hammer already swinging and batting away the boy like a baseball. 3 is about to be sent flying before his armour begins to glow green and the earth rises behind his feet, slowing him to a stop before he takes off, sprinting with unnatural speed and slamming his powerful fist into the startled face of Dan. Dans dark green aura flares to life as the hit lands, causing the ground to crack beneath his feet as he takes another swing at 3 to which the speedy boy avoids by leaping over Dan and through the air. This results in Nul teleporting above and slamming 3 downwards with a fire infused punch.

[Dan] "Good job Nu-"

As if appearing out of thin air, the former onlooker sends a powerful kick into Nuls stomach and as Nul skids along the metal ground, the other fighters all look to see the newcomer.

[Zaf] "Zero! You decided to come after all!"

Zero tosses Gungnir to Zaf without warning.

[Dan] "Zero? Isn't that-?"
[Ser] "he's the real last member of the team."
[Dan] "So the teams are even now. Great. I was worried about it not being a fair fight."
[Zaf] "it won't be."

Sol takes this chance, while everyone is looking away, to charge forwards at Zaf while Dan does the same with Zero.

[Dan/Sol] "ooooaaaaaahhhh!"

The scene that plays next is one of pure horror for the members of team DMNG. As the brown haired teen rushes forward, Zero places his right hand on the hilt of his sword and the moment Dan is within range, he unsheathes. Within the blink of an eye, the glowing red katana slices through Dans shoulders, cutting them clean off, ignoring his aura, followed by a final, third slash that separates his head from his torso.
