It's official. I'm both a Marlos and Carvie shipper. Darn you, Ways to be Wicked music video.

Oh, well. Anyways, here's a new Carvie story.

Read, enjoy, vote, and comment, if you wish. Feedback helps keep me going. (Just don't say "please update", please. Complimenting the story is enough.)

Mal leaves Bargain Castle and heads for Ursula's Fish and Chips shop to talk to Uma, who had just taken Ben hostage. Until she returns, Evie, Jay, and Carlos just sit down in her living room and chill.

Carlos lies down on the couch, thinking about how he was gonna ask Jane out to the Royal Cotillion. However, he couldn't think because Jay, who was napping on the other couch, was snoring loudly.

Carlos groans, annoyed, as he sits up and shakes the R.O.A.R. captain, trying to wake him up. Jay didn't open his eyes. He just shook and babbled about Tourney. Carlos can guess that he was actually dreaming about playing Tourney.

Evie, meanwhile, was fixing up Mal's clothes that were scattered all over the floor. She hums the song, Rotten to the Core, while folding piece of clothing lying around. She piles them on Mal's bed based on type of clothing. One pile for shirts. The other for jackets. And another for

When she returned to the living room, she sees a sleeping Jay and an empty couch. Hearing some metal clanking nearby, she runs towards the direction of the sound and finds Carlos sneaking out of the castle through the staircase on the side of the castle.

Evie was about to shout his name, until she second-guessed herself. Whatever reason Carlos was leaving, it must be interesting. She decided to follow him to see what he's up to. She quietly walks down the stairs and tries to make sure she doesn't make any sound.

She follows him through the marketplace, trying to stay hidden and blend in. As if by temptation, she stole an apple from a sleeping vendor. The apple was rotten, but she knew what was coming when she took a bite out of it.

Carlos accidentally bumping into a muscular thug, who looks down at him angrily. Evie was about to rush to help him, until he did something that surprised her and everyone who was watching. After dodging a punch, Carlos jumps on a nearby table and kicks the thug in the chest, causing him to crash into a stand full of rotten fruits. Carlos picks up an apple, takes a bite out of it, and then squeezes its juice all over the thug's face. After bowing like a gentleman, he makes run for it.

Evie couldn't help but be impressed. She was surprised how brave Carlos has become. Six months ago, he couldn't face some of the worst villain kids without her, Mal, and Jay to back him up. Now, it appears he's no longer afraid to stand up for himself.

"Good boy," she said with a smile.

Evie continues to follow Carlos. She was surprised to find him heading straight for Hell Hall, his mother's home. Why would he come here, she wondered. He had expressed earlier that he doesn't want their parents to know they're back, so why was he here?

Carlos, however, turned away from the direction towards the front door. He, instead, walks into the alley beside the mansion. Evie stands flat against the wall and peers around to corner to keep an eye on Carlos. She had to hide her face when he turned around to see if he's being followed.

Evie followed Carlos to what appears to be his tree house. He climbs up the rope ladder and opens the hatch below. She quietly climbs up after him. As soon as she made it to the top, she peered over the hatch to see Carlos sitting on the floor, looking at the black box device he created months ago. She remembered the day it punched a hole in the barrier.

He was just fiddling with the wires while wearing a small smile on his face. Evie wonders why he came all this way for the device. There was only one way she can know.

"What are you doing here?"

Carlos jumped with shock as he faced the open hatch, laying eyes upon the daughter of Evil Queen.

Don't worry. Just wait until the next chapter. It gets better, I promise.
