Warm Tidings

We had made it a far ways from Riften at this point even past one of the forts
But I could tell us riding on the horse was causing more damage to the stranger due to him having a wound .
" Freja ! We can't keep riding "
She didn't seem to hear me or she was ignoring me
" Freja ! "
She finally seemed to notice at this point or to give in as
Freja was moving towards a small opening of an old stone  ruin
" Let's get going then " she yelled as she refused to even look back
As Freja unmounted her horse as  I did as well but tried to hold the stranger up from falling over  and to help him down .
The stranger at this point was at least half responsive and followed what I was trying to do and once again put his arm behind my neck and over my shoulder .
Freja just took my horse and hers and lead them into the ruin
It was much better then to have our horses inside with us then to have some damn fool steal them and make us walk . 
Carrying the stranger in as I sat him down against the wall
    I began to gather as much wood outside as I can and twigs from the trees .
The area around Riften was always wooded and beautiful in the fall even in the summers , personally it was one of my only favorite things about the area outside Riften I didn't mind the city or the stables but being out here it always took my breath away .
But there was no time to appreciate the out doors
I had a stranger bleeding on a stone floor to return to  , grabbing as much as I could I head back already grabbing a hand full of dry grass on the way
And began to try to set a fire .
Freja had already attended the horses not even bothering to help or even look at the stranger
As much as I wanted to chew her out and go off  but there was no time for it so I held my tongue even tho what she was doing was frustrating me 
The stranger was pressed against the wall as his hand was covered in blood from the wound on his stomach
And as much as he gasped for breath he refused to make eye contact at least to Freja that is
He kept a close eye on me as I finally got a spark or two and the fire was lit as the warm embers soothed my skin
" What is your name ? "
I beckon to the stranger as I lay out a blanket and a straw pillow that I had always took with me  .
Me and Freja always moved place to place and did what we could to earn coin by doing a jarls bounties or if someone wants something dirty done  I certainly wasn't gonna lay my head on any stone floor or log that's for damn sure and we weren't saints either.
" Come here and take it easy " I demanded as I helped the stranger up to lay him down onto the floor as I made sure his head was rested
I had never talked to elf's or even got personal  with one
I've always seen them from a distance but never did approach such people the only elf I had ever saw in fact was a wood elf
And She had braided red hair and brownish looking skin color 
And as a child at the time I was afraid to approach anyone in fact
But i watched how graceful she moved through the town square of Riften and how thin her body was yet she stood tall and proud then a jarl as if the wind couldn't even knock her over
..But a high elf know as Altmers 
They were very different and mainly​ the eyes were the most beautiful thing I found about this stranger
Now don't get me wrong I'm not smitten , I'm just appreciating what the gods gave this man .
" My name is Nari  "
As I looked over the man and moved his hand from his wound .
It wasn't deep enough to spill his guts but it was enough to break the skin
And as I look up at the strangers face to get a better profile he had a cut over his right eye and blood was going down his face
" Your lucky you didn't lose your eye" I tried to sound hopeful for the man 
But he didn't respond he seemed to just be watching me as I fetch water from the sattle of my horse and a ragged cloth
  As I soak it in water and place it down gently to clean the wound 
He flintched as I could tell it must have sting
" Your really gonna help a dirty elf ? " I heard Freja remark as I  tried to sound calm as possible .
" Your really gonna sit around and do nothing ?"
The elf just looked away and held back his disgust at Freja but refused to say anything at all .
Freja on the other hand didn't say another word as she set up my bed roll 
" That's Freja , don't mind her if you stuck a piece of sliver up her ass she'd shit out a sliver ingot "
I swear i caught a glimpse of the elf smile at such a remark
Freja just scoffed .
I then grabbed my alchemy bag that was full of herbs and plants along with the last of the only potion I had as I had bandages set out beside of me .
" Drink this "
The elf hesitated for a moment as I help lift his head up only a little as I press the bottle against his lips as he began to drink I made sure not to be force ful but he did as I asked , hopefully because I've shown this person I'm worthy to trust unlike Freja .
Laying out my plants and herbs and placing only certain ones on his wound to help stop infection
And began to bandage him , wrapping the bandage around his waist as I remove of what was left of his tattered shirt .
I then began to clean his face a little , putting the rag against the gash over his eye and I began to wipe some of his war paint off

I then felt a hand grab my wrist .. the elf just looked at me as he  took the rag from me to clean his own face as if saying you've helped enough .
I respectfully got up and just smiled a little to show he didn't offend me at all
And went outside to rinse and hang up the rag on a stone wall that was separate from us that had no roofing at all .
As I came back inside Freja had already took to bed even the horses made very little noise
The elven stranger​ was laying down asleep so I grabed a spare blanket to put over him to keep him warm from the night air and as i got undressed leaving my under garments on and sliding into my bed roll I heard a small shuffle as if someone was getting up I didn't mind I thought it was Freja in all honesty .
