"HEY ITS MOON!" Ash yelled with realisation. Everyone immediately took there attention the trainer.
"Do you know her?" Serena questioned with a hint of worry in her tone.
"Yeah" Ash replied "She's-" but before Ash could continue, a loud explosion caused them too take interest back to the battlefield. Viveon was blasted backwards, unable to avoid any of the attacks that were stratergised by the challenger.
Viola cried out again, "vivillon use gust!" She ordered, throwing her arm forward as viveon flew into the air, it then produce a large ray of wind, causing its opponent to slightly fall back.
"Decidueye, dig your claws into the ground!" Moon commanded as decidueye dug his claws into the dirt, stopping him from falling back.
"That's incredible! She's using that Pokémons claws to stop it from falling!" Clemont observed fiddling with his glasses vigorously. Ash flashed back to his battle against Viola, remembering his Pokémon not being able to withstand the strong move.
"keep using gust Vivillon, we almost got her!" Viola continued to command, using the same move again.
Moon lowered the front of her cap to cover her eyes, shadowing the top of her face,"Big mistake there, Decidueye now!" She shouted, her Pokémon flew straight into the wind, climbing the current until it came face to face with its opponent, kicking vivillon with its sharp claw like feet, sending the Pokémon backwards.
"Oh no, Vivillon, how can this be!" Viola yelled in frustration, clenching her fists.
Vivillon was now struggling to fly, its left wing too damaged to flap properly.
"I can't believe it, that girl can actually beat Viola!" Clemont gasped on excitement.
"And with only one Pokémon!" Bonnie added, pointing to decidueye.
"Yeah, she really is strong!" Ash commented, his fist raised in confidence.
Serena looked towards Ash in worry, did Ash like this girl?, did he know her before her?, Serena remembered the first day she met Ash, at professor Oaks poke camp, she remembered his generosity and kindness towards her, she hoped deep down in her heart he remembered her, just like she remembered him.
"Alright time to end this, Decidueye use spirit shackle!" Moon commanded once more. Decidueye pulled out one of his arrows, pointing it straight at the falling bug-type pokemon, Moon held her hand in the air like a referee, her Pokémon held back his arrow, suddenly only a few seconds later, Moon gave her Pokémon the signal to fire by swiftly thrashing her hand down, signalling her Pokémon to release his arrow onto the defenceless bug Pokémon. With a swift release, Decidueye landed a Critical hit on the pink Vivillon, watching a purple smoke explosion surround the it. Finally after a hair-raising match, the vivillon fell to the soil of the battlefield, swirls in its eyes. That battle was over.
"Vivillon is unable to battle, Decidueye wins meaning the victory goes to Moon, the challenger!" The announcer said, handing the win to Moon.
"We did it Decidueye, we won our first gym battle!" Moon beamed with excitement, running over to her Pokémon, embracing him as he wrapped his feathers around her back in reply.
Viola returned her vivillon and praising it, she then turned to Moon" your some trainer, I'll give you that, no one's ever defeated me with one Pokémon." She said crossing her arms and smiling at the trainer.
"Guess I was just lucky!" She replied, scratching her neck in awkwardness.
"That was no luck, that was strategy, you have quite the bond with your Decidueye" Viola commented, Moon blushed and smiled at the compliment.
