22 of May of 1940. Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway

The Wehrmacht soldier Frederick, alongside with his companions, was doing the routine vigilance of the bay of Stavanger, a city that was captured by the Germans on April 9 of 1940 due to its important location, without resistance. Their superiors had suspicions about the population, so the soldiers were constantly entering in the houses of the habitants in search for resistance points, with some discoveries.

That day the weather was calmed. Frederick was talking with his comrades about what do after the war.

-After this ends, I will marry this beautiful fräulein- Frederick said showing to them the photo of his fiancée.

-She is very pretty! Congrats my friend! What is her name? -one of his companions said.

-Thanks! Her name is Gerwalta- Frederick said happy.

-But you don't think that this is very boring? -other soldier said.

-What? You prefer to be in the frontline and get yourself killed? -Frederick said.

-You are right. Just wait until the end of the turn to drink some beer- one of his companions said.

-Is obvious that have just been assigned here. On the first days of the take, all the beer of Stavanger was drunk- Frederick said.

-Oh men!- his companion said.

-Don't worry, it wasn't so delicious as a deutsh beer- Frederick said with a little smile in his face.

The soldier didn't understood for many seconds, until getting the message.

-You should have a lot of fun that day with the ladies here, don't you? –other soldier asked.

-Nein, nein, nein. I love my beautiful Gerwalta and I will never betray her- Frederick said a little angry.

The truth is that his beloved Gerwalta had Jewish ascendancy. Thanks to his various contacts in the Gestapo (Geheime Staatspolizei), he faked the documents about Gewalta's family and saved her alongside her family. He didn't believe in the ideas of the Führer. His father was saved by a Jew comrade in the Great War and many of his friends were Jews and communist. But he joined to the Wehrmacht to not attract suspicions.
