"You will be a very delicious desert," A hoarse voice spoke into Diana's ear. "My princess."
Diana cringed as she felt the sharpest of teeth grazed her neck. The man's breath reeked of the metallic smell of blood and Diana's eyes widen as the realization hit her like a bomb finally counting down to its last second. The man that held her firmly against his chest was none other than the creatures of the stories she had always heard about growing up as a child. The cold hands, the blood, the sharp teeth. Everything made perfect sense now and Diana wanted to scream her lungs out. She felt tears brim her eyes and she shut them tightly hoping that this was all a dream and she would wake up soon with Martha to bring her sweet treats in the middle of the night. But that was all an illusion when her eyes re-opened and she was still trapped under the man's uncomfortable embrace.
The scream that was buried deep inside came to life when Diana felt a sharp pain on her collar bone and warm liquid trickling down her chest.
She felt the cold grip around her shoulders loosened and her feet gave way bringing her to the ground, wincing in pain.
The sound of bones cracking caught Diana's ear and she managed to glanced up to see the man's body falling to the ground separate from his head while another figure loomed over him. Diana was shocked but the pain in her shoulder prevented her brain from registering what had just happened and soon, she was in complete darkness.
________
Diana slowly opened her eyes but couldn't see anything. Where am I? She thought. Her room always had a candle lit at the bed side since Martha knew she wasn't fond of the darkness. But there was no candle, no lamp, nothing. Just pure blackness. Diana sat up but went back down when the pain began its torture to her shoulder. Her other hand involuntarily went up trying to ease the gruesome feeling away.
Just then, a cold hand was laid on top of hers and she immediately sprang up from the tingly feeling it left ignoring the pain in her shoulder. Diana listened to hear any kind of movements but it was awfully quiet.
After a couple of minutes, a deep voice spoke making Diana alert and wide awake due to the leap her heart took.
"You're shoulder will heal soon. Ignore the pain."
"Who are you? And where have you taken me?" Diana spoke in a stern voice demanding answers to her questions.
"Get some rest. Then we'll talk."
Get some rest? Diana was kidnapped on the way home, her guard was taken, she managed a wounded shoulder and was trapped in darkness and now she is told to take rest. How could she when her Father must be worried? Not to mention poor Martha. No, she couldn't rest. She wanted answers and she wanted them now.
"Where is this place? Why have you taken me? Where is my guard?"
The questions kept coming and Diana was desperate for answers. She wasn't afraid anymore. If fighting her way out of this place is what will get her home then she will fight down to her last breath.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Her small voice filled the room.
Again no answer. The place was eerily quiet and Diana did not like it. Something was wrong. She carefully sat up, descended the bed and began feeling her way around the dark room.
"Octavius!! Octavius!!" Diana's voice echoed into the darkness. She was getting nervous by the minute and so badly wanted to go home. A wooden door appeared under her hand and she fidgeted for the door knob twisting it open.
