Chapter 11

Elias stood rooted, gazing at Diana with pure fury. Those words were like a massive stab to his heart. She wanted to leave. The thought alone drove him crazy, not being near her or just seeing her.

"I will not make you leave." Elias spoke and Diana's eyes snapped back to his. "You will stay here with me. As long as I say."

"Excuse me?" Diana spoke out of shock. She was no where near ready to argue with Elias. Neither was she about to stand back and obey his orders. She would die first than make him manipulate her into staying at this place.

"You are here because of me. Because I saved you. You will abide by my rules and my orders only."

Diana's jaw hung open at hearing such words. Did he really think he can order her around like how he does to his servants. King or no King she wasn't going to obey. Yes he saved her life and she was lucky to be here but that hold no obligations on whether her life should be lived here in Valencia or back home with her family. Didn't she have a right to decide where she stays and with whom she stays with?

"You cannot control me, Elias." Diana stood firmly and meet his gaze with a determined look. "You saved my life but I don't live under your conditions. I am leaving."

"You will do no such thing." Elias took a couple steps towards the woman that was instilling nothing but fear into his bones by the thought of her leaving. He could tell she was desperate. But so was he. "I will not allow it."

Diana felt the need to strangle the man that stood before her and feed his body to some hungry lions in the wild. Why couldn't he let her leave? She was starting to grow frustrated at the idea of staying here. What was his purpose? Why did he want her to stay here so badly?

"You are cracking in the head Lord Elias if you think you can prevent me from leaving this disgusting place." Diana retorted harshly folding her arms in the process.

"You dare talk back to me?" Elias shouted filling the room with his baritone of a voice causing Diana to tremble a little. "I rescued you from those evil vampires, I gave my blood to heal your wound, I give you freedom in my castle and this is how you speak to me."

"My life is not obligated to your kindness which I am forever grateful, but I am a woman with a family, a soon to be bride, a ruler of thousands of people. I am Princess of Asaelia. Not your slave who you can yell your orders at and I obey and I am definitely not your soon to be Queen."

By now, the beating of Diana's heart was at an irregular pace and she began to wonder if it was from the outburst or the way Elias was looking at her with anger and fury swirling in his eyes.

A moment of silence fell among the two and only their harsh act of breathing could be heard. Diana wanted to take back her words at the disappointed look that now filled Elias' features but stood her ground. She wasn't going to allow her soft side to be taken advantaged of. Not when her future was at stake.

Lowering his gaze to the ground, Elias felt dejection sinking into his soul. He couldn't do it. He had to make her go. He couldn't keep her here any longer. She wasn't ready to be apart of his world. Nor was she ready to love the beast inside of him.

"I will take you home." He spoke in a low voice before disappearing through the exit of the room leaving Diana alone in the comfort of the silence that now filled the room.

Collapsing unto the edge of the bed, Diana placed her head in her palms, suddenly feeling exhausted. She wanted nothing more than to curl up in the confinement of a deep sleep and wake up in her old room. But she knew nothing like that will happen so soon.

I will take you home.

The words rang in her head once more and her heart soared at the thought of going back to Asaelia. She missed her family so much it hurts. How will they feel about her abduction? Father will be happy to see her alive and well and Martha too. Naraine will.....
